Referencing local documents inside a dsh conversation used to mean copying file paths by hand and pasting them one at a time. dsh-file-attachment closes that gap: documents flow into the chat context as naturally as a message, with zero manual path wrangling.

The workflow is straightforward. Drag files in, paste with Ctrl+V, or click the paperclip button on the input toolbar. The browser batch-reads the full text, the host saves files under the session workspace .dsh-file-attachment/ directory, and @-path references are inserted at the cursor in one go. Images are routed through the existing dsh draft-image pipeline instead of being persisted. Multiple files are handled in a single pass, names get date-based subdirectories and automatic collision suffixes, files over 50 MB are skipped with a toast, and the whole pipeline is shell-free and safe across Windows, macOS, and Linux. Mobile browsers can upload via the native file picker.
