About this plugin
When opening FASTA, GenBank, SBOL, or other bioinformatics files in the DSH Web file explorer, the preview panel typically shows only a wall of unformatted plain text. It is hard to discern circular or linear topology, spot feature regions, or locate enzyme cut sites at a glance.
This plugin injects a SeqViz interactive viewer that upgrades the preview from raw text to a rendered visualization for FASTA, GenBank/GenPept, JBEI SEQ, SnapGene, and SBOL v1/v2 files. Capabilities include circular, linear, or dual-topology switching; color-coded feature annotations; keyword search with highlighting; enzyme cut-site markers; complement and index toggles; and linear zooming. The status bar displays the format badge, sequence name, type, and length in real time. Toolbar and status-bar copy are localized in Chinese and English, and the dark/light theme follows the DSH setting automatically.
Built for bioinformatics engineers, synthetic-biology developers, and lab IT staff who routinely browse or verify sequence files inside DSH Web. Please note the viewer is read-only (no editing), and SnapGene .dna binary files as well as files larger than 2 MiB require dsh-file-explorer v0.1.0 or later.

Use Cases
- Quickly browse the structure and feature annotations of FASTA, GenBank, and SBOL sequence files in the DSH file explorer.
- Verify enzyme cut sites, complement sequences, and circular or linear topology without leaving the DSH workspace.
- Compare feature regions across multiple sequences and use search highlighting to locate target segments instantly.
Best For
- Bioinformatics engineers who routinely browse or verify sequence files in DSH Web.
- Synthetic-biology developers working daily with FASTA, GenBank, and SBOL formats.
- IT admins who need to set up a convenient sequence-viewing environment for lab members.
