About this plugin
The reasoning-level selector in DSH Web still follows a traditional menu-list flow: expand a sub-panel, scan rows of text labels, click, then close. The interaction chain is long, visual feedback is minimal, and switching between tiers feels clunky when done repeatedly.
dsh-effort-slider replaces that text list with a compact, damped slider. Dragging produces smooth, eased color fill and head movement; releasing snaps to the nearest tier. Color intensity and glow increase from left to right, with a rainbow dynamic effect on the top tier and a muted, lightless look on the bottom one. Tier count adapts automatically, submission uses optimistic updates so the UI never flashes back to the old value during the RPC round-trip, and the original two-level navigation (Model / Reasoning Level) is fully preserved. The slider stays folded inside the sub-panel and never consumes input-box space.
Who it is for: if you routinely toggle through multiple reasoning levels-off/high/max, low/high/xhigh/max, or any custom set-and prefer a single drag over multi-step clicking plus color intuition over text scanning, this plugin makes switching noticeably smoother.
Use Cases
- Switching between off / high / max tiers in DSH Web by dragging once instead of navigating menus
- Perceiving the current reasoning level at a glance while comparing tiers side by side
- Working with custom multi-tier setups (low/high/xhigh/max) where repeated toggling is part of the daily workflow
Best For
- Heavy DSH Web users who toggle reasoning levels multiple times per session
- Users who prefer gestural and visual feedback over plain text menu lists
- Users with custom multi-tier reasoning configurations who want a smoother selection flow
