dsh-TUI is the most feature-complete terminal frontend in the DeepSeek Harness ecosystem, but its pixel whale and block-letter branding read more like an open-source toy than a professional tool. dshX, the enterprise-oriented Harness distribution, calls for a terminal UI that is visually restrained and tone-appropriate. dshx-tui exists to close that gap: it keeps the full function skeleton of dsh-TUI while reworking the entire brand layer.

The changes are all in the visible surface. The boot page is reduced to the dshx wordmark, a version string, and a one-line tagline, with decorative pixel art and block-text hidden by default (brand.hideBigText defaults to true). The working-status line now follows an enterprise format: tool calls N · think Xs · exec Ys · N tokens. The context bar is trimmed to a simple ratio readout, dropping verbose prefixes. None of this touches interaction logic; it only changes the first impression you get in a terminal window.

Functionally, dshx-tui inherits every capability of dsh-TUI untouched: session creation and resume, /preset and /model switching, skill registration, MCP integration, sub-agents, surveys, theme switching, Shift+Tab mode cycling, and the --resume flag. You do not trade polish for power. It ships as the default frontend dependency of @dshx/dshx, auto-installed by the launcher into the dshx profile, and is also available for standalone use. It is best suited for engineers and operators who already work in the Harness terminal and want the UI to match their team's brand identity.
