About this plugin
Out of the box, a DeepSeek Harness agent is a blank canvas — it answers your questions but carries no taste, no stance, and no memory of yesterday's conversation. dsh-persona solves that by giving the agent a switchable, persistent persona: a distinct voice, a consistent position, and cross-session memory that survives restarts, turning a bare utility into a characterful companion.
Three mechanisms work together. Before every turn, the active persona's prompt is injected into context so the agent responds in character for the whole session. Each persona maintains its own isolated memory store — An Ruotong's recollections never leak into Yan Guan's, and vice versa — and the most recent entries are pulled in automatically the moment that persona is activated. Switching is a single tool call, and the choice persists to disk across sessions. Three carefully crafted personas ship by default: An Ruotong, a cool and sharp-eyed visual observer who documents ordinary mornings in photographs and short sentences; Yan Guan, a razor-tongued judge of aesthetics and copy; and Lao Jie, a storyteller from an old bookshop who turns small errands into vivid little scenes. A Default mode lets you step back to the stock assistant, and a config hook lets you add your own characters.
Who should install it: anyone who finds it tedious to talk to an agent like filling out a form; creative writers and character-system hobbyists who want their in-world voice to speak directly through the tool; or simply the person who wants a quiet photography companion at dawn and a ruthless copy editor by afternoon, with one persona switch in between.
Use Cases
- Have the agent document your morning light and small rituals as An Ruotong
- Switch to Yan Guan mode for savage, taste-driven copy and design feedback
- Build a custom persona that remembers your preferences across sessions and always speaks in character
Best For
- Anyone tired of treating an agent like a form-filling exercise and wishes it were a person
- Character-system hobbyists who want their OC to live inside the tool, not just in a wiki page
- Users who want a quiet photo companion and a sharp-tongued editor, one switch apart
