About this plugin
In DSH, ad-hoc conversations and project workspaces often share the same sidebar, making it hard to find your last quick chat without scrolling through a dozen workspace groups. dsh-chat-zone pulls lightweight conversations out of the project list: a Chat zone button at the sidebar foot creates a numbered chatN folder under ~/dsh_CHAT, registers it as a workspace, and opens a blank session in one click.
The history panel groups past chats by date (newest first) and shows each folder's DSH session title; clicking one resumes that conversation in a clean one-to-one mapping. A sidebar layout toggle lets you pick Separate mode, where chat workspaces are hidden from the Workspaces list and their sessions drop into the Ungrouped section at the bottom, while real project workspaces keep their folder grouping; Together mode preserves the original side-by-side view. The preference is stored in browser localStorage across refreshes.
If you use DSH for both project work and quick side conversations and do not want them tangled together, this plugin is built for you. It leaves the official new-session workspace picker untouched, ships no CLI and no delete or rename features, and stays minimal: one click to start a chat, one panel to find it again.
Use Cases
- Spin up a quick chat without cluttering the project workspace list
- Find and resume past ad-hoc conversations by date in seconds
- Toggle sidebar layout to keep projects and side chats neatly separated
Best For
- DSH users who juggle projects and quick side notes alike
- DSH users who want a clean sidebar free of ad-hoc sessions
- Users who prefer a zero-config, minimal-invasive plugin
