Glancing at an image, a PDF, or a snippet of text from a sidebar file list usually means opening a fresh tab or dialog — and your focus is gone with it. dsh-quicklook cuts that step entirely: select a file in dsh-better-sidebar, press Space, and the content instantly unfolds as a large overlay right in front of you; press Space again or hit Escape to dismiss it, all without leaving your current context.

The overlay handles three content types — images, PDFs, and plain text — and remembers your zoom level across sessions via local storage, so the next preview picks up exactly where you left off. The plugin is entirely client-side with zero server footprint, and its hot-pluggable design means it contributes nothing when dsh-better-sidebar is absent, regardless of which plugin is activated first.
