DeepSeek bills its API at a peak-and-off-peak rate: weekdays 09:00 12:00 and 14:00 18:00 are peak hours where the price doubles, all other weekday hours are off-peak, and weekends are charged at the off-peak rate around the clock. If you make frequent DeepSeek calls and happen to schedule a heavy batch during a peak window, your cost quietly doubles, yet most client interfaces give you no visual cue about which period you are in. dsh-peak-alert exists to close that information gap the moment you open the DSH Web composer, so you can shift time-consuming workloads into cheaper windows.

The plugin offers three alert intensity levels (Off, Low, Medium) that persist in the browser localStorage across sessions and restarts. At the Medium level, the entire composer card tints a soft red with a matching border during peak hours, and a colored status chip appears in the dock below the input field indicating whether you are in a peak (price x2) or off-peak (price x1) window, along with the current Beijing time and the next scheduled switch, refreshed every ten seconds. The plugin also auto-detects whether the model dropdown has a DeepSeek-series model selected; non-DeepSeek models trigger no peak indicators or card coloring at all, preventing confusion.

All calculations run entirely in the browser via Intl.DateTimeFormat for Beijing-time handling. No API key is required, no network requests are made, and there is zero backend dependency. It is designed for individual developers and teams who regularly call DeepSeek models through the DSH Web client and want to align their work rhythm with the pricing schedule to keep API spend predictable.
