About this plugin

DSH is a free-form chat framework, but letting an AI act as a GM for a TRPG session often falls short without dice mechanics, rule-check resolution, and structured world lore, turning the conversation into unstructured small talk. dsh-diceframe fills those gaps in one pass: cryptographically seeded multi-notation dice (3d6, d20, exploding dice, etc.), three-mode check resolution with critical success and fumble, world-book and character-card prompt injection, and slash commands like /roll, /check, and /trpg that execute directly without passing through the model, so dice results are always genuine.

It also interoperates deeply with the DiceFrame ecosystem. A single world-book JSON, character-card JSON, or an entire content-pack directory can be imported with one step and injected into the system prompt; after a session you can export the table state as a valid DiceFrame save, and vice versa, picking up a DiceFrame save in DSH and continuing play. Solo first, then bring friends online, with the key elements that keep the game going carried across both engines.

It is a good fit for players who want AI-facilitated TRPG with real dice and rule checks, GMs who manage world books and character cards, and creators already in the DiceFrame ecosystem who want a seamless DSH single-player experience. Zero runtime dependencies, pure ESM, ready the moment it is installed.

Use Cases

  • Run a structured TRPG session in DSH with real dice and rule checks
  • Import DiceFrame world books and character cards directly into system prompts
  • Export a DSH session as a DiceFrame save and continue in multiplayer

Best For

  • Players who want an AI GM with real dice and rule-based resolution
  • GMs who manage world books and character cards and want structured prompt injection
  • Creators in the DiceFrame ecosystem looking for a DSH single-player experience
