The DeepSeek Harness Web GUI is fully featured, yet when an agent runs for ten or fifteen minutes the screen is nothing but a scrolling log and the occasional approval popup; you have to read deeply to tell whether the agent is still working, waiting for your confirmation, or already done. dsh-codex-compatible-pet places a small animated pet in the bottom-right corner of the browser and turns session state into a glanceable, interactive visual signal so you know at a glance what the agent is up to.

The sprite model is a faithful port of the codex-rs animation system, so every built-in Codex character from Dewey and Fireball to BSOD works out of the box, and pets already installed under ~/.codex/pets are picked up automatically. Clicking the pet triggers a wave or jump interaction track; dragging it plays direction-matched running sequences; hovering reveals a detail card showing the latest user prompt, the active tool call with compact args, and a snippet of the streaming assistant output. The settings page offers three size presets, catalog browsing with static previews, and .codex-pet package import, with all selections and drag offsets persisted to the local store.

It is aimed at heavy Harness users who want a visual companion in the Web GUI, and especially at developers who already keep Codex desktop pets and want them carried over smoothly into the browser. The plugin registers no prompts, tools, schemas, session events, or provider requests and touches no KV-cache state. It is purely a browser-side presentation layer that installs and uninstalls with a single dsh plugin command.
