Juggling multiple windows in DeepSeek Harness means it is all too easy to miss an approval prompt or never notice that a long agent turn has finished. task-chime fixes that with a single, clear local chime: it sounds the moment the harness raises a permission or approval request (sandbox escalation, restricted file access, etc.) and again when a full agent turn completes, so you do not have to keep glancing back at the browser tab.

Playback is driven by the native Windows MCI API in a short-lived child process, supporting both mp3 and wav without any dependency on an open browser tab. Everything is configurable from one tidy GUI card: pick a sound file and set a 0–100 volume for each of the two events independently, toggle either on or off, and add a shared cooldown interval to prevent overlapping chimes during rapid-fire events. All changes persist to $DSH_HOME/settings.yaml and survive restarts.
