About this plugin
Running several AI sessions side-by-side in DSH Web has one persistent pain point: a turn finishes, or an agent parks on an approval, question, or plan-review prompt, and you never hear about it. The silence is loudest when the tab is in the background, where a critical "approval needed" cue can sit unnoticed for minutes. dsh-attention is a lightweight desktop-alert plugin built to close that gap.
It exposes three independently toggleable channels: a short Web Audio chime, a tab-title flash with a favicon badge, and a native OS notification banner (osascript on macOS, notify-send on Linux, Windows toast on Windows). Completed turns fire all three unconditionally, even on the tab you are currently reading. Approvals, questions, and plan reviews only ring while the page is in the background or the window is unfocused, so they never interrupt what you are actively reading. A single-producer rule keeps things clean: as long as any browser tab is alive the page owns the chime and banner while the host backs off; if every tab is gone or frozen the host takes over automatically, guaranteeing no duplicates and no gaps.
It is built for anyone who drives multiple DSH Web sessions in parallel, swaps between tabs often, or lets conversations run unattended. After install, open Settings to Alerts to flip each channel or event class on and off; preferences persist in a local JSON file and survive a browser refresh, so your setup stays exactly as you left it.
Use Cases
- Running multiple DSH Web sessions and missing completions in background tabs.
- An agent waits for approval or a question, but you have switched away and receive no alert.
- Preferring a native OS notification over an in-browser prompt for critical events.
Best For
- Heavy DSH Web users running multiple AI sessions concurrently.
- Developers who switch tabs away and let tasks finish asynchronously.
- Agent workflow users who need real-time alerts at approval or question checkpoints.
