About this plugin
Midway through a complex task in the DeepSeek Harness, you often need a quick side-question answered—confirming a detail, exploring an alternative, or verifying a snippet. Asking in the main thread risks muddling the ongoing context; opening a new window loses the scene. dsh-deepseek-chat adds a dedicated "Ask DeepSeek" panel on the right side of the Web UI so you can query DeepSeek at any moment while your primary Agent session stays completely untouched—closing or starting a new side conversation never modifies the main thread.
The panel lets you switch among every DeepSeek model you have already configured, with streaming output, visible chain-of-thought, a stop button, and one-click new conversation. The most time-saving feature is Cite and Ask: select any text in the main session and click to feed it straight into the side panel as context—no copy-paste needed. The UI automatically mirrors the host language (Chinese/English) and dark/light theme. All requests are routed through dsh ctx.llm using your existing DeepSeek configuration; the plugin never reads, stores, or transmits an API key. If DeepSeek has not been set up yet, it simply prompts you to open Settings → Models.
It is built for users who already have a DeepSeek route configured in dsh: install the plugin, restart the Web UI, and start chatting—no extra keys, no local builds. It is also ideal for anyone who wants to compare answers from multiple models side by side in the same browser tab, or who needs to insert quick questions without breaking the flow of a long-running main conversation.
Use Cases
- Ask quick follow-up questions mid-task without disrupting the main session
- Compare responses from multiple DeepSeek models side by side
- Select text in the main conversation and cite it into the panel with one click
Best For
- Harness users who already have a DeepSeek route set up in dsh
- Heavy workflow users who compare models and ask parallel questions
- Developers who prefer lightweight Web UI extensions without local builds
