Introduction¶
After exporting data from the iPhone “Health” App, you often get a sizable export.xml or 导出.xml file. Writing your own scripts to parse the Apple Health XML structure, and then building charts and reports, is time-consuming. It also requires handling device differences, missing metrics, and memory issues with large files. While Jupyter notebooks or scattered open-source tools can analyze some metrics, it is difficult to complete the closed loop of “Scan Data → Select Modules based on your goals → Generate Charts → Provide Suggestions” within a single conversation.
Below, we introduce the SkillHub community Skill Apple Health Analyzer (Coordinate: @user_6d1dc249/apple-health-analyzer, Version 1.0.0): It identifies health export files within the Agent workspace, performs streaming parsing to generate Plotly interactive dashboards and textual insights, and emphasizes local processing throughout the entire process.
Overview¶
Apple Health Analyzer is designed for Apple Health export XMLs (export.xml / 导出.xml), converting raw exports into interactive visualization dashboards and personalized health insight reports with a single click.
- Release & Classification: Source: SkillHub Community; Category:
data-analysis; Publisher:user_6d1dc249. Tags indicaterequires_api_key=false, meaning no additional API Key is needed. - Trigger Scenarios (Skill Description): Applicable when users mention Apple Health, health export, or health data analysis, or when
export.xml/导出.xmlexists in the workspace. It works regardless of whether the user has wearables like an Apple Watch or Oura Ring, and adapts analysis based on user goals and life stages. Data gaps are handled via degradation rather than causing failure.

Core Features¶
The following capabilities are derived from the official SkillHub description and can be compared with the webpage.
- Device Hierarchy Identification: Automatically distinguishes data sources such as iPhone, Apple Watch, and third-party wearables, then determines the available analysis dimensions.
- Multi-module Analysis: Intelligently adapts to 12+ modules, including Steps, Heart Rate, Sleep, HRV, Blood Oxygen, Exercise, etc. (Specific modules enabled depend on the export content and data gaps).
- Large Files & Privacy: Supports streaming parsing for export files larger than 2GB; processing is completed locally without uploading raw health packages to the Skill provider.
- Output Formats: Generates Plotly interactive dashboards after streaming parsing and outputs health advice reports. The workflow is: Data Scan → Personalized Q&A → Parsing → Dashboard → Report.
- Data Quality Strategy: Recommends at least 14 days of data; gaps are automatically degraded without causing errors for the entire segment due to missing items.
The implementation references community open-source projects (as listed by the official source): krumjahn/applehealth, praveenweb/apple-health-ai-assistant, and Jupyter-based projects like Apple-Health-Data-Analysis. This Skill encapsulates the above analysis pipeline in the form of an Agent Skill (SKILL.md).
Installation & Activation¶
The installation method provided by SkillHub involves instructing the AI to fetch the Skill according to unified documentation, rather than manually writing git clone commands.
- Open the SkillHub Installation Guide and configure your Agent environment (Cursor, Codex CLI, Claude Code, etc.) according to the steps. (If all support the same SkillHub installation flow, the commands are consistent; however, “Skill Directory” paths may differ by product, so refer to the installation documentation for details).
- Send the official prompt to the Agent to install the coordinate package:
Please install `@user_6d1dc249/apple-health-analyzer` based on https://skillhub.cn/install/skillhub.md.
Once installed, when a health export XML appears in the workspace or you actively mention health data analysis, the Agent should be able to load this Skill and execute instructions according to the guidelines in SKILL.md.
Typical Usage¶
First, prepare the data, then trigger the analysis in the workspace.
- Export all health data in the iPhone “Health” App and unzip to obtain the XML (common filenames are
导出.xmlorexport.xml). - Place the XML in the root directory or a subdirectory of the current Agent workspace (to facilitate Skill scanning).
- Describe your intent in natural language. The official example (aimed at CodeBuddy) is phrased as:
Analyze my health data
Following the steps above, the Skill will automatically complete the following: Data Scan → Personalized Q&A (to understand your goals and stage) → Streaming Parsing → Generate Plotly Interactive Dashboard → Output Health Advice Report. If there are only metrics collected by the iPhone (like steps) and no watch sleep data, it will degrade modules according to actual fields rather than interrupting the entire task.
Scenarios & Notes¶
Target Audience
- Developers or technical users who already use the “Health” App regularly (optionally with Apple Watch or other wearables) and want to quickly visualize trends rather than writing parsing code from scratch.
- People who need to process sensitive health data locally but do not want to build a complete Jupyter pipeline themselves.
- Scenarios with large export files (officially stated to handle 2GB+) requiring streaming parsing rather than loading everything into memory at once.
Usage Notes
- Analysis quality is correlated with the time span of the export; the official recommendation is no less than 14 days of data. If the period is too short, some modules may be degraded due to insufficient samples.
- The insight report is generated by the Agent and Skill rules; it is an auxiliary reference and cannot replace medical diagnosis or professional follow-up.
- The rating displayed on the SkillHub page is a community metric (approximately in the 100,000+ range at the time of scraping) with about 1111 downloads; installation and activation depend on whether your local Agent successfully loads
@user_6d1dc249/apple-health-analyzer.
Conclusion¶
Apple Health Analyzer transforms the XML exported by the “Health” App from a difficult-to-read archive into an interactive Plotly dashboard and structured advice. It has adapted for scenarios involving large files, multiple devices, and data gaps. If you have a 导出.xml on hand, you can connect to the Agent using the SkillHub installation coordinates and run through the entire workflow starting with the sentence “Analyze my health data”.
