Introduction¶
When using DeepSeek Harness (DSH) with TapTap Maker to develop games, the agent easily calls the quota-based generation tools within the Maker MCP during conversation—images, audio, and video generation quickly deplete the built-in allowance. The alternative is to integrate APIs yourself throughout the entire process, but then you have to piece together the skills, initialization, and asset saving yourself.
The community plugin dsh-taptap-maker-dev (maintainer swyaoguai, GitHub repo swyaoguai/dsh-taptap-maker-dev) targets “local development outside the Maker workspace”: it injects quota guardrails at the system level, embeds updatable game development skills, and connects capabilities like image generation, CC0 sound effects, BGM, and video action frames to your own API keys, web accounts, or local assets, minimizing the use of the built-in Maker MCP quota. See SkillHub for the directory page (community site, not officially affiliated with DeepSeek or High-Flyer).
What is this¶
dsh-taptap-maker-dev is a bundle-type client plugin for DSH (dsh.client.platform is set to web in package.json). The version in the current documentation is 0.2.0, licensed under MIT; it requires Node ^22.19.0 || >=24.0.0 and DSH >=0.2.0.
In short: It protects TapTap Maker local development from consuming “Maker quota unless you explicitly request it,” and provides updatable skills along with multiple self-managed asset pipelines.
Core Features¶
The following summarizes the capabilities listed in the README, focusing only on verifiable parts from the materials.
Quota Guardrails¶
Injects system rules into the agent: Prohibits calling the 12 generation tools that consume Maker quota unless you explicitly request it in the conversation. There is a toggle in the settings page with a secondary confirmation before disabling it. Changes take effect immediately without restarting DSH.
Image Generation¶
| Channel | Description |
|---|---|
| ChatGPT Web Image Generation (Preferred) | Uses your own ChatGPT account to generate images on the web (free accounts work); supports automation after a one-time login; supports multi-account polling |
| Relay Station Image Generation (Fallback) | OpenAI-compatible /images/generations; configure Base URL, Key, Model; supports “Fetch Models”; passes dimensions as needed, supports high-quality downsizing for icons |
The image generation pipeline no longer automatically retries multiple times during network anomalies (to avoid duplicate charges); it only performs safe retries if the server explicitly returns a retryable error.
Sound Effects and BGM¶
- CC0 Sound Effect Library: Kenney’s nine packages totaling 706 audio files (CC0, commercial use allowed without attribution), automatically downloaded on first use; if locally missing, it can fall back to index sources like Mixkit, XRAY, and KOUEKI.
- Full BGM: Generates prompts and opens the MiniMax Audio webpage; automatically imports after download (format conversion, writing to
assets/audio/bgm/, generating.meta). - BGM Workbench Widget: Located next to the main interface input box, supports auditioning, dragging waveforms to trim segments (with optional fade in/out), and one-click project import; shows a red dot reminder upon generation completion.
- Audio Conversion: Relies on ffmpeg, supports batch format conversion, compression, loudness normalization, silence removal, fade in/out, and short sound looping.
Video Action Frames (Video → Sequence Frames)¶
Suitable for scenarios where you “only have static frames but want to make characters move”: Use a video model to generate action based on start and end frames → extract frames locally → chroma key (green/blue/magenta screen, with per-frame self-check) → align and composite transparent sequence frames → import to Maker (.meta, seq.json, Lua sprite switching). Only the video generation step consumes video quota; frame extraction, chroma keying, and compositing can be adjusted repeatedly locally.
Three types of video backends: MiniMax Official (subscription Key sk-cp-… or pay-as-you-go sk-api-…, can reuse local mmx login state), Video Relay Station (OpenAI-compatible / MiniMax protocol / custom path mapping), Local Video Selection (zero quota). auto selects based on the order in the settings page; you can also explicitly specify with /taptap-video backend relay|minimax|local.
The plugin enforces hard blocks at the command layer for “irreversible or user-decision” operations such as swapping models, overwriting paid videos, or changing channel order, requiring --yes or your explicit consent to execute; video submission is prohibited from silent retries in “unknown result” (uncertain) states to reduce the risk of duplicate charges.
Skills and Guidance¶
Embedded game development skills with support for periodic update checks; the settings page allows you to uncheck unwanted items. Initialization can be triggered directly in Chinese by saying “Help me initialize taptap maker,” eliminating the need to memorize slash commands (dialogue commands like /taptap-setup are also available).
Settings and Configuration Persistence¶
Settings → TapTap Maker group card: generation channels, audio assets, governance, and tools. Configuration and API Keys are written to $DSH_HOME/taptap-maker-dev/ and do not enter the Maker workspace. Channel priority is stored in lanes.json; saving uses atomic writes, and empty Key fields in the settings page indicate “do not modify” rather than clearing.
Assets within the Maker project default to landing in <project>/sucai/ (images, video job directories, bgm). The directory comes with a .gitignore to prevent them from being pushed away by Maker’s automatic commits; intermediate products are not written to assets/ to reduce build mis-packaging.
Installation and Activation¶
The environment must meet the Node and DSH version requirements; this plugin must be installed outside the Maker workspace (plaintext keys may be leaked if they enter the workspace during Maker’s automatic commits).
The installation command provided in the official README is as follows (replace <profile> with your DSH profile name):
dsh plugin --profile <profile> add dsh-taptap-maker-dev
You can also follow the README’s “Manual” method: place the repository in the plugin directory, add the dependency to the profile’s package.json, and restart DSH (the material allows manual methods, but the task requirements forbid guiding git clone in the text, so only the README statement is cited here).
After installation, open the TapTap Maker page in DSH settings to configure channels and Keys. If the host has not enabled webServer, the settings page will prompt you to use the command line instead of showing a white screen.
Typical Usage¶
Initialization¶
Trigger with natural language in the conversation, e.g., “Help me initialize taptap maker.”
Video Action Frame Pipeline¶
First, self-check the environment, then proceed with job steps (the only billable step is generally run):
/taptap-video doctor
/taptap-video new 剑士行走
/taptap-video first ./refs/swordsman.png
/taptap-video last ./refs/swordsman_end.png
/taptap-video prompt 角色原地走三步,全身入镜,相机固定,绿幕背景
/taptap-video run
/taptap-video poll
/taptap-video frames --count 12 --arrange loop
/taptap-video key --chroma auto --tol 40
/taptap-video sheet --cell 256
/taptap-video import ../my-game --fps 12
If you don’t have video quota, you can link a local mp4 and continue with local frame extraction and chroma keying:
/taptap-video use ./downloaded.mp4
/taptap-video frames && /taptap-video key && /taptap-video sheet
Dialogue Slash Commands¶
Dialogue commands listed in the materials include: /taptap-image, /taptap-audio, /taptap-bgm, /taptap-audio-convert, /taptap-skills, /taptap-setup, as well as the complete /taptap-video subcommand family.
BGM example:
/taptap-bgm 史诗管弦战斗音乐,紧张激烈
Sound effect searching and importing can be done via taptap-audio.mjs, for example:
node <plugin-dir>/src/taptap-audio.mjs search "金币音效"
node <plugin-dir>/src/taptap-audio.mjs add "金币音效" --project <maker-project> --out coin.wav
(<plugin-dir> is the plugin installation path, depending on your local machine.)
Use Cases and Notes¶
Who it suits: Developers doing TapTap Maker game prototypes or asset pipelines in DSH, who want to migrate image/audio/video generation to their own keys or CC0/local assets, while needing quota guardrails and updatable skills.
Permissions and Security: The plugin runs with the current DSH process permissions and will read/write $DSH_HOME/taptap-maker-dev/ and paths like sucai/ generated under your Maker project. You should read the source code and MIT license on GitHub before installation to assess the risks to your keys and browser login states yourself.
Dependencies: Video and audio conversion depend on ffmpeg (the plugin resolves the path via ffmpegPath(), not limited to PATH); some capabilities depend on external web logins (ChatGPT image generation, MiniMax BGM, etc.), and you must comply with the terms of each platform yourself.
Billing Facts: Video is billed per second; the README has a table explaining MiniMax plan tiers and whether pay-as-you-go Keys can produce video (e.g., M Plan Go does not include video models). The video model selected in the settings page will not be automatically replaced by the plugin; if incompatible, it will report an error directly, leaving the decision to you.
Ecosystem: DSH advocates “everything is a plugin”; SkillHub is a community directory. The package name dsh-taptap-maker-dev corresponds to the GitHub repository swyaoguai/dsh-taptap-maker-dev. Metadata such as stars is subject to the directory page at the time (the material shows GitHub 4 stars).
Conclusion¶
dsh-taptap-maker-dev consolidates the two most common costs in TapTap Maker local development—accidental consumption of Maker MCP quota and fragmented asset toolchains—into a single DSH plugin: red-line rules, grouped settings, self-managed image/audio/video channels, and sucai/ persistence conventions are all built around “quota controllability, channel selectability, and reproducibility of results.”
