Introduction¶
When using DeepSeek Harness (DSH) to connect to WeChat or self-hosted assistants, a common practice is to configure an additional set of task management apps. This often results in messages being in the chat, while arrangements must be copied to a calendar or checklist, requiring you to check records in two places when changing times. The DSH community plugin telos-harness (maintainer: lucifersteps, categorized as a web tool) consolidates this workflow into the DSH process on your Mac: you simply describe tasks in WeChat using natural language, screenshots, or voice. After the assistant organizes them and you confirm, they are written to Apple Calendar and Reminders. It also supports scheduled WeChat reminders, web reading, and Baidu Maps capabilities. The following text introduces what it is, what it can do, and how to install and verify it on the DSH desktop version or CLI.
What is this¶
Telos is a DSH plugin designed for the iPhone + Mac scenario. By running DSH and Telos on a Mac, you can interact with the assistant via WeChat, placing work and life arrangements into Apple Calendar and Apple Reminders, thereby reducing the friction of switching between WeChat and management apps. The plugin is published in the GitHub repository lucifersteps/telos-harness. The current documentation corresponds to version 0.4.12 under the MIT license; the community directory page is available at SkillHub Plugin Entry.
There are clear boundaries for the operating environment: macOS 14 or later, Apple Silicon (M-series). Official documentation states that Intel Macs, Windows, and Linux are not currently supported. Validated hosts include the DSH 0.2.1-rc.2 desktop version and Node/CLI. If you wish to use WeChat at any time and receive scheduled messages, your Mac must remain connected to the internet, awake, and continuously running DSH and Telos.
Core Functions¶
The following capabilities are derived from the feature list and descriptions in the project README. When creating, modifying, or deleting calendar events or reminders, a preview is presented first, and the operation is executed only after receiving your text confirmation.
| Direction | Description |
|---|---|
| Apple Calendar | Query, create, modify, and delete schedules |
| Apple Reminders | Query, add, modify, mark as complete, and delete todos |
| WeChat Scheduled Tasks | Schedule WeChat messages and execute queries on a plan; viewable, modifiable, and cancellable |
| Web Search & Reading | Search data, read public webpages, and organize content (relies on DSH web services) |
| Baidu Maps | Locations, addresses, transit and driving routes, weather (requires separate SK configuration) |
| User Memory | Save and update long-term information such as titles and preferences |
| History Review | Retrieve old messages from the current WeChat session (including content before compression and context) |
| Images & Voice | Understand images, recognize voice, and organize into answers or action drafts |
| File Reading | PDF text layers, DOCX, XLSX, and text; reuses DSH Office capabilities |
| Persona & Skill | Built-in or custom personas, using applicable Skills in DSH |
The Map feature requires obtaining an SK from the Baidu Maps Agent Plan, which must be filled into Telos’s “Baidu Maps Token” or the configuration item BAIDU_MAP_AUTH_TOKEN; the AK for standard Map Web APIs is not applicable here. Voice relies on the speech recognition service in DSH; history review is limited to the current WeChat session.
Installation and Enablement¶
The installation package is a pre-built .tgz. Do not substitute it with a source ZIP or github:lucifersteps/telos-harness (the source code does not contain the compiled Python and Apple components). The market installation source is consistent with the Release:
https://github.com/lucifersteps/telos-harness/releases/download/v0.4.12/telos-harness-0.4.12-macos-arm64.tgz
The same Release provides a SHA256 checksum file. Before installation, it should be verified according to the repository’s AI Installation Guide.
DSH Desktop (Recommended for First-Time Use)¶
- Install a compatible version from the DSH Official Website and open the application.
- Download
telos-harness-version-macos-arm64.tgzmatching the documentation version and complete verification. - In DSH, select “Plugins → Add Plugin,” install the file, enable it, and open the Telos page.
- Configure model connection (reuse existing config or account login/API Key). After “Test Connection” succeeds, enable Apple and Baidu Maps as needed, and click “Save and Apply.”
- On the Telos page, complete the WeChat QR code scan, click “Authorize Calendar and Reminders,” and allow both in the macOS popup windows.
- Click “Start Telos,” use the scanned WeChat account to send a test message, and try querying schedules and reminders.
The installation package comes with the Python runtime environment and Apple components required by Telos; no separate installation of Python, Homebrew, or Xcode is required. The current package is ad-hoc signed; if the system blocks it, refer to the repository’s Troubleshooting Guide.
DSH CLI¶
Follow the repository’s CLI Installation Steps to create or reuse a profile containing dsh-base. Configure model credentials, then complete the first-time setup, WeChat login, Apple authorization, and startup. CLI and Desktop share the same .tgz; the CLI process must remain running. If the terminal is closed, DSH is exited, or the computer sleeps, message receiving and scheduled task triggering will not function normally. Do not run two Telos instances for the same WeChat account simultaneously.
You can also give the phrase “Help me install Telos” along with the repository link to an AI capable of operating the local machine, instructing it to read docs/install-for-ai.md. Keys, QR code scanning, and macOS authorization must still be completed by yourself. Do not paste API Keys or login files into chat.
Typical Usage¶
The following expressions come from README examples and can be tried directly in WeChat (model and WeChat configuration must be completed; Apple features require authorization):
- Schedules: “Check my schedule for tomorrow.” “Schedule a one-hour project discussion for 3 PM tomorrow.”
- Reminders: “Remind me to submit expense reimbursement materials before 5 PM on Friday; save to Apple Reminders.” “Mark ‘Buy Milk’ as completed.”
- Scheduling: “Remind me to take a break in WeChat in 10 minutes.” “Send me the day’s schedule and unfinished items every morning at 9 AM.”
- Web: “Find the official installation documentation for this project.” “Read this link and summarize the main conclusions.”
- Maps: “How do I get from Beijing South Railway Station to the Summer Palace by subway?” “Check the weather for tomorrow in Hangzhou.”
- Memory: “Remember, I prefer short and direct replies.”
- Multimedia & Files: Send a screenshot of an event poster, asking to extract the time and location and organize them into a schedule draft; or send a PDF/Word file, asking to organize meeting minutes or summarize key points.
To verify successful installation, the official recommendation is: Telos is started and the model is available; WeChat receives actual replies to test messages; Calendar and Reminders permissions are allowed and read-only queries succeed. To test scheduled tasks, create a one-off task “Remind me that the installation test is complete in one minute” and keep the computer awake with DSH and Telos running.
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
Who it is for: Users who already use DSH on Mac, use WeChat on iPhone daily, and wish to place arrangements into Apple Calendar and Reminders. If you need web retrieval, map routes, or WeChat scheduled summaries of todos, this can be completed within the same conversation without maintaining a separate task management app.
Permissions & Security: The plugin runs under the permissions of the current DSH process and can access the configured model, WeChat channel, and authorized Apple data. Before installation, you should review the repository source code and the MIT license, as well as the Third-Party Statement. Do not paste API Keys, WeChat login files, or full chat logs into AI chats or GitHub.
Additional Configuration Summary:
| Feature | Preparation |
|---|---|
| WeChat Chat | DSH model connection, WeChat QR scan |
| Apple Calendar & Reminders | Two macOS permissions; text confirmation before writing |
| Baidu Maps | Agent Plan SK, optional |
| Web Search & Reading | DSH web services and credentials |
| Voice | DSH speech recognition service, optional |
The community plugin directory SkillHub has no official affiliation with DeepSeek or High-Flyer. The DSH ecosystem emphasizes “Everything is a Plugin,” and Telos is one implementation path within this ecosystem oriented towards the WeChat + Apple native calendar stack.
Conclusion¶
Telos Harness connects “casually recording arrangements in WeChat” with “data landing in Apple Calendar and Reminders,” expanding upon network-related capabilities such as scheduled WeChat, web, maps, and conversation memory. Installation should be based on the 0.4.12 telos-harness-*-macos-arm64.tgz. After adding the plugin in DSH, simply complete the model, WeChat, and Apple authorization to get started.
