DeepSeek Harness (DSH) provides plugin extensibility. In multi-session scenarios, frequently switching between windows or sidebars can interrupt the workflow. The dsh-multi-chat plugin addresses this issue by mapping sidebar sessions to independent panes in a grid.
Plugin Overview¶
This is a DSH plugin maintained by lanxiuyun, released under the MIT license. It transforms the session area of the Web GUI into an equal-width grid layout, allowing multiple sessions to be viewed simultaneously.
Core Features¶
- Side-by-side session grid: Uses an equal-width cell layout, displaying a maximum of 3 panes per row. When the window becomes narrower, it automatically downgrades to 2 columns or 1 column.
- Pane reordering: Supports drag-and-drop (by dragging the handle in the top-right corner) and keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl/⌘ + arrow keys) to adjust pane order.
- Pane management: Each pane can be closed independently; the toolbar provides a “Keep only active” option to collapse the grid.
- Sidebar integration: Each session row provides a sidebar toggle for quickly adding or removing sessions without navigation.
- Fault tolerance: If the
slotsorsessionsservice is missing, the plugin enters a lazy mode instead of throwing an error.
Installation and Enablement¶
Install the plugin via the command line:
dsh plugin --profile desktop add link:<path-to-this-package>
After installation, restart the desktop app or configuration profile to activate the plugin.
Typical Usage¶
- Add a session: Click a session in the left sidebar; the session is then added to the grid as an independent pane.
- Reorder panes: Drag the ⠿ handle in the top-right corner of a pane to swap positions, or use Ctrl/⌘ + arrow keys.
- Collapse the grid: Click “Keep only active” in the grid toolbar; the grid collapses into a single-pane view.
- Quick switching: Use the toggle buttons in the sidebar rows to add or remove sessions.
Configuration and Debugging¶
- Check configuration: Confirm whether the plugin is active.
dsh --profile desktop --dump-config | Select-String dsh-multi-chat
- Uninstall:
dsh plugin --profile desktop remove dsh-multi-chat
- Feature toggle: You can disable the grid feature in Settings -> Plugins -> dsh-multi-chat.
Use Cases and Notes¶
- Suitable for developers who need to view context or compare outputs across multiple DeepSeek sessions in parallel.
- This is an independent directory and plugin within the DSH ecosystem, with no direct affiliation to the official app store.
- The plugin runs with the permissions of the current process; it is recommended to review the source code and license before installation.
