The philosophy of DSH (DeepSeek Harness) is “everything is a plugin.” In agent development or everyday use, models often need to automatically execute tasks at specific times instead of relying on manual clicks.

dsh-scheduled-tasks is a Web sidebar plugin maintained by crazy-L118. It solves the following problem: write what you want dsh to do as a task, set the time, and when the time arrives, it automatically submits the task to the running dsh instance for execution.

Core Features

  • Scheduled execution: Supports four recurrence types—once (specified time), daily, weekly (select day + time), and fixed interval (minimum 5 minutes).
  • Sidebar entry: The entry button is located in the sidebar between the “New Session” button and the “Workspace” list. Click it to open the task management panel.
  • Task management: Supports creating, editing, deleting, enabling, disabling, and running immediately. Each task retains the last 20 execution records.
  • Chinese and English interface: Automatically follows dsh’s language settings (reads locale.preference in ~/.dsh/settings.yaml). If dsh is set to Chinese, it displays Chinese; if dsh is set to English, it displays English.
  • Local storage: Tasks are stored in ~/.dsh/scheduled-tasks.json. No data is uploaded, and no keys are included.
  • Deferred catch-up: Tasks missed while dsh is shut down will not be immediately replayed after restart (misses older than 6 hours are skipped directly and logged).

Installation and Enablement

Prerequisites: dsh and pnpm are already installed.

Install from npm:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-scheduled-tasks

After installation, restart dsh web, and the “Scheduled Tasks” entry will be visible in the sidebar.

Typical Usage

  1. Click sidebar “Scheduled Tasks” → “+ New Task”.
  2. Fill in the task name and task content (a natural language prompt, which will be submitted to dsh as a new task when the time arrives).
  3. Select the recurrence type and time, then save.
  4. When the time arrives, the plugin submits the task to the running dsh instance; check the execution result in the dsh session.

Scenarios and Cautions

This plugin is suitable for scenarios requiring automated workflows, periodic report generation, or scheduled data checks.

Cautions:
- Scheduled tasks depend on dsh staying running. Tasks will not execute when dsh is not running.
- The plugin runs with the permissions of the current dsh process.
