Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) extends its functionality through a plugin mechanism. When periodic agent task execution or result feedback is required, manual operations are inefficient. The dsh-cron-job plugin addresses this pain point. It adds scheduled task scheduling and multi-channel message push capabilities to DSH, allowing users to describe tasks in natural language and execute them automatically.

Plugin Overview

This is a scheduled task and messaging plugin for DeepSeek Harness. The project repository is on GitHub, licensed under MIT, and maintained by user upJiang. It supports sending task results to WeChat, Feishu, DingTalk, WeCom, QQ, Slack, Telegram, Discord, or WhatsApp.

Installation and Activation

Before installing, ensure DeepSeek Harness is installed and the Node.js version is 22.19 or higher. Prepare an available DSH model and a bot account for the corresponding platform.

By default, the installer places the plugin in the web profile. It replaces the legacy dsh-im messaging plugin while preserving existing channel configurations and credential references.

npx -y github:upJiang/dsh-cron-job install

After installation, stop the DSH service and restart it:

dsh web --host 127.0.0.1 --port 3080

Refresh the browser and visit http://127.0.0.1:3080/ to access the new features.

Connecting Messaging Accounts

  1. Open “messaging accounts” in DSH settings.
  2. Choose WeChat, Feishu, DingTalk, WeCom, QQ, Slack, Telegram, Discord, or WhatsApp.
  3. Follow the page prompts to scan a QR code or enter platform credentials.
  4. Complete the connection test.

Note: Account settings are saved independently for each device. The plugin does not synchronize keys, tokens, or login states between devices.

Active WeChat push depends on the context of the most recent one-to-one chat reply. On first use or after upgrading from an older version, send a message to the bot in the target conversation first, then run the connection test or create a WeChat push task.

Core Features

This plugin provides the following capabilities:
* Scheduled task scheduling: Custom execution times are supported.
* Multi-channel push: WeChat, Feishu, DingTalk, WeCom, QQ, Slack, Telegram, Discord, and WhatsApp are supported.
* Active WeChat push: Sends messages based on one-to-one chat context.
* Task testing and validation: Performs end-to-end testing before creation to ensure the workspace, model, Agent, data sources, and notification target are working properly.
* Task concurrency control: The same task does not run concurrently.
* Proxy support: Supports configuring the HTTP_PROXY, HTTPS_PROXY, and NO_PROXY environment variables.

Creating and Using

  1. Open “Scheduled Tasks” in DSH settings.
  2. Describe the task: Use natural language to describe the execution time, content to read, and push destination. You can also load the built-in Product Hunt + GitHub Trending example and modify it.
  3. Configure parameters: Select the workspace, model, and push target, then generate a draft.
  4. Review and test: Review the time, time zone, prompt, tool permissions, and notification target.
  5. Test and create: Click “Test and Create” and wait for a real test of the workspace, model, Agent, data sources, and notification target to complete. The test message is marked with the “Scheduled Task Creation Test” label. If any part fails, the task is not created.
  6. Confirm and enable: After the test passes, click “Confirm and Enable”.

Management and Limitations

On the “Scheduled Tasks” page, you can search, filter, edit, pause, resume, run immediately, or delete tasks.

Runtime behavior:
* Each run uses an independent DSH Session.
* The same task does not run concurrently.
* Tasks missed while DSH is shut down are not backfilled.

Network environment:
* If a website can only be accessed through a proxy, the plugin prefers the HTTP_PROXY, HTTPS_PROXY, and NO_PROXY environment variables.
* If these environment variables are not set, the plugin reads the current user’s system proxy but does not modify the system proxy settings.

Summary

dsh-cron-job provides DeepSeek Harness users with a closed-loop workflow from task scheduling to message notification. Natural-language configuration and a strict testing mechanism help ensure that automated tasks run stably.
