Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) may be constrained when connecting to certain providers because model discovery can fail through the GET /models endpoint. Cherry Studio includes built-in configurations for these providers and models. This plugin reads Cherry Studio’s SQLite database (in read-only mode) and syncs those configurations to DSH, bypassing the model discovery process.

Plugin Purpose

This is an independent community plugin that syncs Cherry Studio’s provider and model catalog to DeepSeek Harness. It reads Cherry’s SQLite database and periodically syncs credentials and manually configured model routes. The plugin automatically appends the OpenAI-style /v1 suffix and preserves model metadata and compatible reasoning options.

Environment and Dependencies

Before using it, ensure the following:
* Node.js 24 and npm.
* DSH version 0.1.7-rc.2, with its credential/settings provider enabled.
* The Cherry Studio database tables user_provider and user_model have the structure used in the tested version.

Installation and Configuration

  1. Edit the configuration file: Edit cordis.patch.yml in the plugin directory.
    • providerName: Set to the enabled provider name in Cherry (exact match).
    • routeId and credentialRef: If you are not overriding an existing route/credential, set new IDs.
    • syncIntervalMs: Defaults to 5000 (5 seconds).
    providerName: My Provider
    routeId: cherry
    credentialRef: CHERRY_API_KEY
    modelIds: []
    databasePath: ''
    modelRegistryPath: ''
    syncIntervalMs: 5000
  1. Build the project:
    npm ci
    npm run check
    npm run build
  1. Install the plugin:
npx --yes @deepseek-ai/dsh@0.1.7-rc.2 plugin --profile web add .

Startup and Usage

  1. Restart the DSH host: After installation, restart the running DSH process.
  2. Select a provider: In the DSH user interface, select the synchronized provider and model. When modelIds is empty, all enabled compatible models are included; specifying a list limits the selection.
  3. Database path: The default path is %APPDATA%/CherryStudio/Data/cherrystudio.sqlite. Windows paths are discovered automatically; on other systems, specify databasePath explicitly.

Data Security and Synchronization Mechanism

  • Key storage: The plugin copies the selected API Key into DSH’s credential store, not into Cherry’s configuration file. This process happens locally and does not send database contents to any service.
  • Sync frequency: Synchronization runs every 5 seconds, syncs only changed values, and retries cases caused by temporary locks or Profile configuration failures.

Uninstallation and Maintenance

To stop synchronization, remove the plugin and restart DSH:

npx --yes @deepseek-ai/dsh@0.1.7-rc.2 plugin --profile web remove dsh-cherry-provider-bridge

Note: Uninstalling does not remove the already synchronized route and credentials; you must delete them manually in the DSH interface.

Notes

  • This plugin is an independent community project and is not an official plugin or fork by DeepSeek AI or Cherry Studio.
  • The code runs with DSH process privileges; review the source code and license before use.
  • MIT License.

Summary

This plugin solves the issue of automatic model discovery for specific providers in DSH by bridging Cherry Studio’s database to reuse configurations.
