Preface

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) allows users to trigger skills via / commands. However, native skill matching only supports prefix filtering, which limits fuzzy search capabilities. The dsh-plugin-skill-palette plugin enhances this area with a hierarchical weighted fuzzy search engine and seamless inline multi-skill chaining, improving the flexibility of skill triggering and composition.

Core Features

The plugin includes a 4-level weighted fuzzy search engine. The priorities from highest to lowest are:
1. Exact prefix
2. Subsequence and word boundaries
3. Description full-text keywords
4. Subsequence fuzzy search

Seamless Inline Multi-Skill Chaining

After selecting a skill, /<skill> is inserted automatically while preserving input focus. Typing / again immediately opens fuzzy search to select the next skill, enabling rapid composition of multiple skills.

Installation and Activation

Install the plugin using the official command:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:qyjgg/dsh-plugin-skill-palette

Local development and build:

  1. Enter the plugin directory and install dependencies:
    cd dsh-plugin-skill-palette
    npm install
    npm run build
  1. Configure the dependency and bundles in the corresponding Profile’s package.json:
    {
      "dependencies": {
        "dsh-plugin-skill-palette": "link:E:/work/dsh-plugin-skill-palette"
      },
      "dsh": {
        "profile": {
          "bundles": [
            "...",
            "dsh-plugin-skill-palette"
          ]
        }
      }
    }

Uninstall command:

dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-plugin-skill-palette

Typical Usage

After typing / in the input box, try the following matches using hierarchical search:

  • /cr or /review can match code-review and caveman-review
  • /test can match tdd (via description keywords)
  • /git can match git-guardrails-claude-code and caveman-commit

When selecting a skill, you can use the Enter key or click the dropdown menu with the mouse. The system automatically appends a space after the skill name, keeps focus in place, and typing / starts the selection of the next skill.

Notes

  • Native DSH skill matching only supports startsWith prefix filtering.
  • During submission, the DSH host pre-step hook extracts all /name markers and injects the corresponding <skill_content>.
  • The plugin files include lib, cordis.patch.yml, README files, and the LICENSE.

Summary

By using hierarchical search and inline chaining selection, this plugin addresses the limitations of DSH’s native prefix matching and improves the efficiency of skill composition. For more details, please refer to the project directory or the GitHub link.
