Preface¶
In the DSH web client, the built-in layout limits the conversation content width to clamp(680px, 64% of the column, 920px). When the window is wide, the conversation column remains constrained to a narrow strip, leaving large whitespace on both sides. The dsh-wide-conversation plugin takes over this width axis and sets it to a configurable percentage of the conversation column width.
Overview¶
This is a DSH plugin that allows adjusting the conversation column width to a percentage of the available width (default 100%), overriding the built-in 680-920px reading measure. It is maintained by yunxiyang, provides a “Wide Conversation” configuration card, and supports DSH 0.1.x and 0.2.x versions.
Installation and Enablement¶
Use the dsh CLI to install the plugin into a specified profile:
dsh plugin --profile <name> add dsh-wide-conversation
After installing or uninstalling a plugin, the profile must be restarted for the change to take effect.
If developing using local code:
dsh plugin --profile <name> add link:/path/to/dsh-wide-conversation
Configuration¶
Go to Settings > Plugins, find the installed dsh-wide-conversation group, click the Configure button to the right of the wide-conversation row, and open the Wide Conversation card.
The card is collapsed by default; click the title row to expand it. The settings are as follows:
| Field | Default Value | Range | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
widthPercent |
100 |
40–100 |
The percentage of the conversation column width used by the conversation content. When set to 100, the conversation column fills the entire column. |
After modifying, click Save for the changes to take effect. Switching the width does not require restarting the app.
Technical Details and Limitations¶
- Platform: Only for the Web client (desktop and browser GUIs); it does not affect terminal interfaces.
- Scope: Modifies only client-side layout styles; it does not touch model inference, network requests, or session logs.
- No build step: The plugin requires no build process; the browser side uses a hand-written module loader, and the Node side depends on

Summary¶
dsh-wide-conversation solves the problem of limited reading width for the conversation column in the DSH client on wide screens. It gives users full control over the conversation column width through a simple configuration option, making it a lightweight plugin for optimizing the reading experience.
