Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture, and users typically install a large number of skills and plugins. In the default interaction model, managing these installed components usually requires browsing the file system directly or relying on the command line. This plugin brings visual browsing and management of skills and plugins into the DSH Settings interface.

It solves problems such as scattered components, difficulty in quickly identifying them (especially when custom names are used), and difficulty in batch-managing plugin states (enable/disable/uninstall).

Core Features

Skill Management

Open Settings → Repository to view the skill list. The plugin reads the directory structure under ~/.dsh/skills and parses the content of SKILL.md.
* Custom metadata: Supports setting a custom display name, tags, description, and GitHub repository link for a skill.
* AI bilingual introduction: Supports one-click generation of an AI-generated introduction and saving it as bilingual content (Chinese / English). The content is separated by specific markers, and the client supports language switching.

Plugin Management

The plugin list reads the profile configuration and supports operating on installed plugins:
* Enable and disable: Operations are written to cordis.patch.yml, keeping the state consistent with the official plugin marketplace.
* Uninstall: Removes the entry in dsh.profile.bundles, the dependencies, and the corresponding files in node_modules.
* Built-in plugin protection: For built-in plugins in the @deepseek-ai/dsh-* series, the plugin prohibits enabling, disabling, or uninstalling them.

Status Management and Aliases

  • New-install reminder: A newly appearing skill or plugin shows a red dot on the list and card; click to confirm and clear it.
  • Date maintenance: Supports maintaining an installation or update date for each entry. New entries are automatically filled with the current date.
  • Input aliases: Allows users to invoke a Skill using a custom display name (alias). When typing / in the input box, the candidate list shows Skills with aliases. After selecting one, the alias is automatically replaced with the original name for invocation, without affecting DSH’s kebab-case naming convention.

Installation and Enablement

Use the following command to install the plugin:

dsh plugin --profile web add <your-repo-or-package>
# 本地联调示例:
# dsh plugin --profile web add link:/path/to/dsh-skill-browser

After installation, restart DSH. Go to Settings → Repository to see the two tabs, “Skill Repository” and “Plugin Repository”.

Usage Flow

  1. View and details: In the skill list, click a skill name to open the details page, where you can view the Markdown body, file list, and file previews.
  2. Generate AI introduction: On the skill details page, click “Generate AI Introduction” in the upper-right corner. The AI generates bilingual content in the conversation and saves it. After refreshing the page, you can switch between Chinese and English using the button in the upper-right corner.
  3. Edit metadata: On a skill or plugin card, use the “Rename”, “Description”, or “GitHub” field to edit custom information.
  4. Manage plugins: In the Plugin Repository, click the button in the lower-right corner of the card to enable, disable, or uninstall a plugin.
  5. Use aliases: Type / in the conversation input box, find the Skill with the custom display name in the candidate list, and select it to invoke it by alias.

Technical Notes and Cautions

  • Effective timing: All enable, disable, and uninstall operations take effect “on the next startup”. The UI shows the corresponding notice.
  • Runtime environment: This plugin renders with React and is mounted into the “Settings → Repository” area through injection. It relies on Node built-in modules and has no additional runtime dependencies.
  • Built-in plugin restrictions: Do not attempt to modify the status of built-in plugins in the @deepseek-ai/dsh-* series; the system blocks such operations.
  • Ecosystem background: This plugin is maintained by the community, and its repository is not affiliated with the official DeepSeek organization.
