Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is a core capability set for current agent development. When performing complex workflow orchestration, developers often need to manage background tasks, state waits, and operations from multiple subagents. Manually maintaining this state usually requires additional schedulers, task boards, or event buses, which increases system complexity.

dsh-goodjob is a DeepSeek Harness plugin (Bundle) that provides an IDE-style operations workspace for the above needs. It allows you to manage Jobs, Job Groups, Waits, Subagents, and Agent Teams directly within the native DSH interface, without building an additional task management system.

Plugin Introduction

The plugin is maintained by developer fentz26 and is licensed under the MIT License. It integrates background task and agent operation capabilities into the existing DSH architecture in a plugin-based way, ensuring that execution remains owned by the DSH capability that started it.

Core Features

The plugin provides the following main functional modules:

  • Operations workspace: Provides an IDE-style operations workspace with a resource explorer, stable tabs, and up to four split views, covering Jobs, Groups, Waits, Subagents, and Teams.
  • Task management: Supports Jobs and Job Groups, with real-time status views, precise execution durations, bounded searchable output logs, and tool support for Job Groups.
  • Workflow orchestration: Provides persistent views and management for Goals, Workflows, and Schedules.
  • Status monitoring: Includes a “Needs Attention” feature to identify blockers/failure causes and agent idle states, as well as a “What changed?” feature to display deterministic changes since the last visit.
  • Query and analysis: Provides real-time searching based on the DSH query engine and precise Usage statistics (based on Token usage records).
  • Advanced features: Supports hierarchy and navigation for Subagents, persistent Waits, and an optional Agent Team view.

Installation and Enablement

Before installing, ensure your environment meets the following requirements:

  • Node.js version ≥ 22.19 or ≥ 24
  • pnpm version ≥ 10
  • Git (the plugin will clone the repository from GitHub)

Use the following command to install the plugin:

npx -y @deepseek-ai/dsh@0.1.1-rc.2 plugin --profile web add github:fentz26/dsh-goodjob

After installation, start the DSH Web Profile normally to use it:

npx -y @deepseek-ai/dsh@0.1.1-rc.2 --profile web

To upgrade or uninstall the plugin, run:

npx -y @deepseek-ai/dsh@0.1.1-rc.2 plugin --profile web update dsh-goodjob # upgrade
npx -y @deepseek-ai/dsh@0.1.1-rc.2 plugin --profile web remove dsh-goodjob # uninstall

Compatibility and Notes

  • DeepSeek Harness version: The plugin has been verified for compatibility with DSH 0.1.1-rc.2. Under this version, core features work normally; some advanced capabilities may continue to be refined as DSH upstream updates are released.
  • Permissions and security: The plugin itself does not store any credentials. All operations run with the permissions of the current DSH process.
  • Use cases: Suitable for developers who need visual management and persistent tracking of complex workflows, background tasks, and multi-agent collaboration.

Summary

dsh-goodjob simplifies the operational complexity of agent systems by directly embedding background task management capabilities into DSH workflows. For users developing or operating with DSH 0.1.1-rc.2, this is a plugin that can significantly improve operational efficiency.
