Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) supports rich interaction and logic extensions through a plugin-based architecture, but the default session mechanism does not provide long-term, cross-session task persistence. During extended development or complex task flows, the model can easily lose context, and task state is hard to synchronize across teams. meow-dsh-task is a dual-sided plugin package that adds task management capabilities to the DSH ecosystem by providing 15 tools on the model side and commands plus a web interface on the human side.

What Is This?

meow-dsh-task is a DSH plugin maintained by meimiaoji-creator. Its core value is providing a cross-session, offline, Git-shared task tracking and management system. It persists task data as a JSON source of truth layer and automatically renders it into team-readable Markdown documents, with version control through Git.

Installation and Activation

The plugin only supports the web profile. After installation, restart DSH to load the plugin.

dsh 插件 --profile web add meow-dsh-task

If you need to debug local code, you can use the following command:

dsh 插件 --profile web add link:./

After successful installation, a Tasks button appears on the right side of the input box in the DSH session UI. Click it to open the task panel.

Core Features

1. Dual-Sided Interaction Design

The plugin is divided into the model side and the human side, each providing a different set of operation interfaces.

Model Side (15 Tools)
The model reads and writes task data through the meow_dsh_task_* family of tools. All operations automatically resolve the storage instance based on the current session workspace. Core tools include:
* meow_dsh_task_init: Initialize the task list.
* meow_dsh_task_list: List tasks in the current plan.
* meow_dsh_task_claim: Claim a task (with concurrency protection).
* meow_dsh_task_status_update: Update task status.
* meow_dsh_task_checkpoint_append: Append a checkpoint log.
* meow_dsh_task_todo_update: Maintain sub-todos within a task.
* meow_dsh_task_review_start / review_close: Open/close a review milestone.
* meow_dsh_task_issue_report / issue_resolve: Report/resolve review issues.
* meow_dsh_task_handoff_write: Write a handoff list.
* meow_dsh_task_plan_create / plan_list / plan_switch / plan_close: R&D plan management.

Human Side (Command Group)
Operated through the /meow-dsh-task command group, with support for subcommands such as:
* /meow-dsh-task list
* /meow-dsh-task claim
* /meow-dsh-task status
* /meow-dsh-task checkpoint
* as well as subcommands for init, todo, review, issue, handoff, etc.

Web Side (UI and API)
* Task Management Page: Visit /meow-task to view the task list, supporting workspace switching via the ?workspace= parameter. The page includes a task list tab and an advanced configuration tab.
* JSON API: Provides /api/meow-task/* endpoints for programmatic reading and writing.
* Injection: The task button is injected into conversation.input.right, and the task panel overlays conversation.view.

2. System Prompt Injection (5 Protocols)

The plugin injects 5 protocols into ctx.systemPrompt.section, ordered by order 110–114:
* meow-dsh-task:bootstrap (110): When the task file does not exist, guide the model to initialize first.
* meow-dsh-task:startup (111): Before starting work or taking over, guide the model to read memory and restore context.
* meow-dsh-task:exec (112): Execution discipline, standardizing task claiming, checkpoint recording, and file operations.
* meow-dsh-task:complete (113): Record checkpoints on phase completion or critical decisions.
* meow-dsh-task:review (114): Review workflow and issue feedback handling.

3. Multi-Workspace and Git Sharing

The plugin supports parallel multi-workspace usage. The taskRoot resolution priority is: explicit plugin configuration > environment variable MEOW_DSH_TASK_ROOT > current session workspace > process.cwd().
* Source of Truth Layer: Stored in <taskRoot>/.dsh-task/plans/<planId>/, using JSON/JSONL formats.
* Rendered Artifacts: Automatically rendered as Markdown files under <taskRoot>/docs/tasks/.
* Conflict Control: Skip write operations when content is unchanged, reducing the Git merge conflict surface.

Permissions and Runtime Behavior

At runtime, the plugin performs the following operations, but these are strictly constrained by design:

What It Does
* File Writes: Limited to three locations (source of truth layer .dsh-task/, rendered artifacts docs/tasks/, and config file $DSH_HOME/meow-dsh-task/workspace-config.json).
* Registration: Registers 15 tools, 1 command group, and 3 web routes (/meow-task, /meow-task/static, /api/meow-task).
* Injection: Injects 5 system prompt protocols and client slots.

What It Does Not Do
* Does not read chat logs, session history, or other plugin configurations.
* Does not call any external APIs; runs fully offline.
* Does not modify DSH source code; implemented purely through Cordis injection.

Compatibility

  • DSH Profile: Only supports the web profile.
  • Runtime Platform: Node 18+, ESM only.
  • DSH Runtime: Depends on @deepseek-ai/cordis ^0.1.0.

Incompatible scenarios include: TUI / CLI profiles (because they depend on webServer and client UI slots) and older versions of the Cordis API.

Summary

meow-dsh-task solves the problem of state loss in long-running DSH task flows by structuring and persisting task data. It provides the model with a rigorous toolchain and humans with a visual management interface, while its Git sharing mechanism reduces collaboration costs for teams.
