Configuration and Usage

Obtain the API Key and Configure

The plugin provides a standalone Web Search (Doubao) settings card. API keys must be managed through the credential service rather than through configuration files.

  1. Obtain an API Key: Enable the service in the Doubao search console and create an API Key. A free quota of 500 searches per month is provided.
  2. Configure: Enter the key in the “Web Search (Doubao)” card in the Harness settings GUI. Settings include version (custom/global), base URL, etc., and changes take effect immediately.

Use the Search Tool

After configuration, in Harness, use the web_search tool to invoke Doubao search. The plugin normalizes search results into the WebSearchResult format and returns them to the model.

  • Not an Ark Plugin: This is not a Volcengine Ark (Ark) chat-side web content plugin. It uses Doubao search’s standalone API, and the search process is completely decoupled from model inference.
