Preface

The core philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” For developers or product designers, jumping directly from vague requirements to code often lacks an intermediate structured validation step. dsh-plugin-product-design is a product design workflow suite for DSH Desktop. It standardizes the design process through a unified entry point and a set of focused sub-skills, ensuring that output is evidence-aligned and standards-compliant.

What Is This

This plugin is a skill-only plugin and does not include model tools or client modules. It is maintained by the owner Kayungko and is licensed under MIT. The core of the plugin is a “router + nine pd-* sub-skills” architecture, intended to advance design ideas from the briefing stage to the deliverable code stage.

Core Features

Routing and Skill Dispatch

The plugin provides a single user entry point /product-design, which analyzes requests and routes them to the corresponding sub-skill. The nine sub-skills include:
- pd-get-context: a minimal design brief gate
- pd-user-context: persistent product/design context
- pd-research: evidence-based UX desktop research
- pd-ideate: generate three distinct visual directions
- pd-image-to-code: convert the chosen visual target into interactive frontend
- pd-url-to-code: clone a live URL into local frontend
- pd-audit: product process audit
- pd-design-qa: internal QA hard gate
- pd-share: deploy/share (executed only after the user selects a target)

Workflow Gates and Principles

  • Minimal Brief Gate: Before generating code, basic design goal confirmation must be completed.
  • Design QA Hard Gate: The workflow is considered complete only when the status of design-qa.md is passed.
  • Evidence-Driven: Screenshot evidence must be checked before adopting any solution.
  • No Fake Assets Policy: Using div art, CSS art, or hand-written SVG as substitutes for real icons or images is prohibited.

Installation and Configuration

Prerequisites

  • DSH Desktop is installed (the Host contract has been validated on DSH 0.1.2-alpha.1).
  • Node.js version ^22.19.0 || >=24.
  • PowerShell (the deployment script is a .ps1 file).

Installation Steps

git clone https://github.com/Kayungko/dsh-plugin-product-design.git
cd dsh-plugin-product-design
pwsh install.ps1

The install script copies the plugin to the configured node_modules/ directory and registers its dependencies. After installation, restart DSH Desktop.

Configuration

Set in cordis.yml:

- id: product-design-runtime
  name: 'dsh-plugin-product-design'
  config:
    enabled: true

Typical Usage

Initiate a request via the router skill:

/product-design I need an onboarding flow for a habit-tracking app

Or:

/product-design sketch a settings page for a desktop pet app

The router first triggers the brief gate, then generates visual directions or code after the goal is confirmed.

Notes

  • The plugin contains skills only, does not include model tools, and does not depend on the host model’s own features.
  • The skill state directory is located at ~/.dsh/product-design/.
  • Skill code changes support hot reloading.
  • The plugin runs only within the DSH Desktop process and has no independent host launch logic.
