Introduction

The philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” As the number of conversations grows, manually distinguishing which projects are “in progress” and which are “completed” often depends on memory or extra actions. The dsh-session-status plugin solves this with status labels, making project progress clear at a glance in the session list.

Plugin Overview

Plugin Name: dsh-session-status
Maintainer: LucienLL
Category: Client
License: MIT

This plugin sets a project status label for each DSH conversation. It includes three built-in statuses (“In Progress / Completed / On Hold,” with adjustable colors) and supports custom labels (name + color palette + arbitrary hex color + icon). The status dot appears at the beginning of each session list row, can be toggled in the conversation header, and data persists across sessions/browsers.

Installation

Installing the plugin requires administrator privileges. After installation, restart dsh web.

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-session-status

After installation, you can see the status label in the conversation header.

Core Features

  • Project status labels: Assigns an independent status label to each DSH conversation.
  • Built-in three states: Provides “In Progress / Completed / On Hold” statuses with adjustable colors.
  • Custom labels: Supports adding custom labels with a name, color palette or any #RRGGBB (#RGB shorthand supported) color, and an icon.
  • List visibility: Each session list row shows a status dot in the corresponding color at the beginning; an unset status does not take placeholder space.
  • Hover display: When hovering over a session row, the hover card displays the plugin status label alongside DSH’s native “Idle/Running” status.
  • Quick switching: A status pill appears in the corner of the conversation header. A single click on the pill quickly cycles through the three states; clicking the arrow on the right lets you select any label from a dropdown list or clear the status.
  • Persistent storage: Data is stored in the host-side settings document (dsh-session-status namespace) and is not lost when changing browsers or restarting.

Usage

  1. Set status: Open any conversation; a status pill appears on the right side of the header (by default it displays ● Not Set). A single click on the pill quickly cycles through “In Progress → Completed → On Hold → None”; clicking the arrow on the right expands a dropdown menu to select a specific label.
  2. View the list: In the session list (sidebar), a status dot in the corresponding color appears before the title of each row. Hover over a session row to display both DSH’s native status and the plugin status label in the hover card.
  3. Manage configuration: Go to the “Session Status” page in Settings.
    - Adjust the colors of the built-in three states; click the default color or “Restore Default” to reset.
    - Add, remove, or modify custom labels, using a color palette or any hex color.

Data Storage

Plugin data is stored under the dsh-session-status namespace in the host-side settings document, with the following structure:
- labels: List of custom labels (the built-in three states serve as the base and are not included here).
- sessions: Mapping from session ID to label key.
- overrides: Override configuration for the built-in three-state colors (optional).

Use Cases and Notes

Suitable for users who need fine-grained tracking of project progress in DSH sessions. Plugin data is stored on the local host side and relies on DSH’s settings system. Please review the source code and license (MIT) before installation.
