Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) includes an official built-in minimal preset, but this preset relies on a persistent bash terminal (PTTY) for readiness detection, which is unavailable in Windows environments. As a result, DSH Desktop hides this option on Windows. The dsh-win-minimal plugin provides a Windows equivalent while preserving the design of a fixed prompt, zero runtime context, and automatic compression.

What It Is

This is a Windows minimal agent preset. After installation, an additional “Minimal Mode (Windows)” option appears when starting a new session.

Installation

Install via CLI or DSH Desktop:

# CLI / Web profile
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-win-minimal

# DSH Desktop
dsh plugin --profile desktop add dsh-win-minimal

Enabling and Verification

After installation, this preset does not appear in the UI plugin list; instead, it appears in two places:
1. the preset dropdown selector when starting a new session
2. Settings → Agent → Agent Preset panel

Verify that the files were materialized successfully using the following commands:

# Linux / macOS
ls "$DSH_HOME/.agent-presets/win-minimal/"

# Windows (未设 DSH_HOME 时)
dir "%USERPROFILE%\.dsh\.agent-presets\win-minimal"

Customization

The preset files are located in $DSH_HOME/.agent-presets/win-minimal/. Plugin installation is idempotent and does not overwrite files manually modified by the user.

  • Modify persona: edit the text field in agent.cordis.yml
  • Add or remove tools: directly add or remove assembly lines
  • Remove: delete the win-minimal/ directory

Notes

  • gitbash must be installed globally
  • Zero-risk installation; it runs with the current process permissions. It is recommended to review the source code and license before installation
