Introduction

When developing a DeepSeek Harness (DSH) agent or using the web interface, the assistant often generates HTML solutions that include code, tables, or quotations. If this content is scattered throughout the conversation flow, it can be difficult to manage and review. We need a way to persist structured solution content and display it interactively on the right side of the conversation.

The dsh-soln-panel plugin solves this problem by providing an expandable/collapsible drawer panel on the right side of the conversation. It supports multi-tab switching, width adjustment by dragging, unread indicators, and independent storage of solution data per workspace.

Plugin Introduction

  • Name: dsh-soln-panel
  • Purpose: A right-side solution panel for conversations, supporting HTML solution display, multiple tabs, width dragging, unread indicators, and per-workspace persistence.
  • Maintainer: PastSheep
  • License: MIT
  • Category: Client

Core Features

  1. HTML Solution Display: Supports rendering HTML content, with tables, code blocks, quotations, and other styles displayed as-is.
  2. Multi-Tab Support: Supports multiple solutions coexisting, with browser-style tab switching. When there are too many tabs, they are automatically compressed and scrollable.
  3. Width Drag Adjustment: Panel width can be dynamically adjusted between 280px and 900px.
  4. Unread Indicator: When a solution is updated and has not been viewed, the corresponding tab turns orange. The unread state is cleared after it is clicked.
  5. Per-Workspace Persistence: Data is stored in a specified directory under the current workspace, retained after restart, visible across sessions, and strictly isolated between different workspaces.
  6. No Build Required: The plugin code can be used directly without a build step.

Installation and Enablement

  1. Run the following command in the terminal to install the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile web add "github:PastSheep/dsh-soln-panel#main"
  1. After installation, restart DeepSeek Harness.
  2. A “Solutions” tab will appear on the right side of the session interface. Click it to expand the panel.

To uninstall it, run:

dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-soln-panel

Typical Usage

The plugin pushes solutions through the host-level registered tool show_solution. When calling this tool, parameters can be used to control solution appending, updating, activation, and clearing.

Tool Parameter Description

Parameter Description
id Solution ID. If this parameter is provided, the solution is updated. If omitted, a new solution is appended.
title Solution title. It can be omitted when updating, in which case the original value is retained.
html Solution HTML content. It can be omitted when updating, in which case the original content is retained.
activate Whether to navigate to this solution’s tab. Defaults to true when appending, and false when updating.
openPanel Whether to expand the panel. If omitted, the current panel state is preserved.
clear Clears all solutions in the current workspace and collapses the panel.

Calling Logic

  • Append a Solution: Do not provide id. activate defaults to true and automatically navigates to the new tab.
  • Update a Solution: Provide id. activate defaults to false and does not navigate. title and html can be provided selectively.
  • Clear Solutions: Call the tool with clear set to true.

After each call, the tool returns summary information for all solutions in the current workspace, including ID, title, and unread status.

Data and Isolation

  • Data File Location: <workspace>/.dsh/soln-panel.json.
  • Isolation Mechanism: The plugin reads the corresponding solution pool based on the workspace information of the current session. If the current session has no workspace information, it returns an empty pool, preventing cross-workspace data leakage.

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

This plugin is suitable for scenarios where structured HTML content needs to be presented to users, such as generated documentation, code snippet lists, or complex table data.

Note: As a third-party plugin, it is recommended to check its source code and license before installation. The plugin depends on specific API versions in the DSH host environment, such as @deepseek-ai/dsh-tools.

Conclusion

dsh-soln-panel provides DSH with a lightweight, build-free solution for managing generated solutions. Through persistence and an interactive panel, it significantly improves the usability of assistant-generated content. For more details, consult the plugin directory or source repository.
