DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is built around the core idea of “everything is a plugin.” When building an Obsidian-based knowledge base, mechanical operations such as path routing, file deduplication, and index maintenance consume the model’s valuable turns. dsh-plugin-wiki-tools provides a native toolkit that implements the mechanical core of the Wiki skill suite, including path routing, incremental source tracking, index bookkeeping, and health checks. It decouples file-system operations from prompt logic so that the model can focus on content synthesis.
Plugin Positioning¶
This plugin is maintained by Lion-1209 and is a native DeepSeek Harness tool for Obsidian vaults. It implements the infrastructure for the knowledge-base skill suite, including type-to-folder routing, Frontmatter completion, uniqueness validation, main index updates, and source delta tracking.
Core Features¶
wiki_query¶
Provides two query modes:
* Quick mode: Directly returns the raw content of hot.md and index.md, i.e., the standard read order used by skills.
* Standard mode: Performs full-text search across content pages and returns search snippets, incoming and outgoing links graph.
wiki_write¶
Responsible for page writing and complete bookkeeping:
1. Automatically routes content to the corresponding folder based on type.
2. Automatically completes Frontmatter (preserving created and unknown fields on update).
3. Ensures file names are unique within the vault scope.
4. Automatically updates main index entries and log entries.
5. Supports the source_path parameter to record source hashes, writing only when the content changes (unless force is used to overwrite).
wiki_lint¶
Checks the health of the Wiki. Results are reported and suggestions are provided, output to wiki/meta/Lint Report <date>.md:
* Duplicate file names
* Dead links
* Orphan pages
* Missing Frontmatter
* Empty sections
* Stale index entries
* Stale hot cache
Installation and Configuration¶
Installation¶
Install the plugin using the official command:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-plugin-wiki-tools
Configuration¶
vaultPath is required. In the profile’s cordis.patch.yml, override the wiki-tools configuration item to point to the vault root directory (which must contain the wiki/ and .raw/ directories), otherwise the plugin will fail to start:
- id: wiki-tools
config:
vaultPath: /absolute/path/to/vault
# 可选:重定向页面类型到特定文件夹
typeFolders:
domain: wiki/areas
Technical Details and Dependencies¶
- Environment requirement: Node version must be >= 22.19.0.
- Filesystem access: The vault is local user data on the host, independent of the DSH session workspace, and is intended to support cross-project references.
- Concurrency control: Writes to each target file are serialized within the process, and file names are protected by vault-level deduplication.
- Architecture reference: The vault layout and operation contract follow the LLM Wiki pattern (Andrej Karpathy), with the form derived from claude-obsidian.
Typical Usage¶
- With the skill suite: Use it together with
dsh-plugin-wiki-skills, which provides prompt-level skills (such aswiki,wiki-ingest,wiki-query,wiki-lint, andsave), while this plugin handles the mechanical layer. - With the Web UI: Use it together with
dsh-wiki-webto browse, search with BM25, and view the link graph and Lint dashboard in a browser, without needing the Obsidian client. - Prerequisite: Before configuring
vaultPath, use the SCAFFOLD operation of thewikiskill to scaffold the vault structure.
Summary¶
This plugin standardizes mechanical file operations, reducing the cognitive load of maintaining an Obsidian Wiki. It is suitable for DSH users who need highly automated knowledge-base management.
