Introduction¶
The core philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” For agent developers, modularizing and pluggifying reusable skills (Skills) is key to improving development efficiency. This article introduces dsh-plugin-lion-skills, which integrates a developer-focused agent skill suite into DSH as a plugin and can be used directly without a complex build process.
Plugin Overview¶
dsh-plugin-lion-skills is a DeepSeek Harness plugin maintained by Lion-1209. It mounts the originally standalone Lion-Skills suite onto DSH’s ctx.skills registry, providing 11 Chinese-language workflow skills that cover high-frequency developer scenarios such as code review, debugging, naming conventions, and test writing.
Core Features¶
- Pure Markdown skill bodies: Skill content consists of pure Markdown files, using
nameanddescriptionas frontmatter, requiring no compile step to edit. - Read-only bundled provider: It is mounted as a read-only bundled provider and will not override user-defined skills with the same name.
- Explicit errors: If frontmatter formats are invalid, the plugin reports the error directly during discovery, avoiding silent failure.
Installation and Activation¶
Installing this plugin requires DSH’s CLI tool. The plugin package declares a dsh.bundle patch and is automatically activated after running the installation command.
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-plugin-lion-skills
If installing from a local code checkout:
dsh plugin --profile web add /path/to/dsh-plugin-lion-skills
After installation, the plugin inserts a lion-skills line in cordis.patch.yml. You can replace or disable it by editing cordis.patch.yml in the profile and targeting the id lion-skills.
Available Skills List¶
This plugin registers a provider named lion-skills. The candidate skills (rank 600) include:
| Skill Name | Applicable Scenarios |
|---|---|
clarifying-questions |
When requirements are ambiguous, contain hidden assumptions, or involve an X-Y problem and need clarification before starting |
code-review |
When reviewing code with focus and layered analysis |
commit-message |
When Git changes require a standardized commit message |
debugging |
When encountering bugs, errors, crashes, or abnormal behavior and locating the root cause |
error-handling |
When designing or improving error handling and logging |
naming |
When deciding names for code identifiers (variables/functions/classes/files/APIs/database fields) |
onboarding-unknown-codebase |
When quickly getting started with an unfamiliar codebase and understanding the project structure |
spec-writing |
When writing design documents (spec/design doc/RFC) for non-trivial features or refactors |
task-breakdown |
When breaking requirements into executable tasks and sequencing dependencies |
testing |
When writing tests for code or improving fragile tests |
verify-and-fix |
When verifying completion before delivery, or fixing bugs by addressing root causes instead of symptoms |
Behavior and Development¶
- Priority: The provider registered by this plugin is named
lion-skills, and its candidate skills have a bundled-rank of 600. This means that if project-level, runtime-level, or user-level skills with the same name exist in the project, these skills take precedence over this suite. - Resource references: Each skill declares
resourceBase: directory, allowing the skill body to reference resource files in the same directory (such asevals/evals.json). - Unpackaged skills: The
lion-writing-skillsmeta-skill is intentionally excluded from packaging and is only applicable within the Lion-Skills repository.
Development and License¶
Local development requires installing dependencies and running tests:
npm install
node --test test/
This plugin follows the MIT License and remains consistent with the upstream Lion-Skills suite.
