About this skill

Problem

Filling DOCX application forms is often hard not because of typing speed, but because resume information is scattered across PDF text, DOCX text, or bullet lists, while the template depends on fixed labels, empty cells, and merged regions. Manual copying can miss fields, shift rows, overwrite existing content, or break template styling.

How It Works

The skill first parses the resume into structured fields, including name, gender, date of birth, ethnicity, political status, contact details, education, work history, professional qualifications, and tool skills. It then locates writable cells by form labels, writes the content into document.xml, and repackages the result as a new DOCX file. The key principle is to leave fields blank when the resume does not provide them, rather than inferring place of origin, ID number, referees, or missing achievements. If the resume contains multiple work entries and the template has only one block, it asks which entry to use; existing content is skipped, and missing labels are marked [SKIP].

Boundaries

It fits Chinese application forms with clear field rules and stable templates, especially table areas for education and work history. For scanned OCR text, highly customized forms, and performance statements requiring human refinement, the output should still be reviewed field by field. Complex merged cells and XML attributes depend on the underlying script strategy.

Use Cases

  • A recruiting assistant needs to transfer a candidate's name, contact details, and education entries from a PDF or DOCX resume into a fixed DOCX application form.
  • An HR team handling multiple resumes needs to map work experience, job title, and date ranges into blank form cells, leaving missing fields blank.
  • A job-seeking consultant needs to choose one work-history entry from a resume and fill it into a single-block template without overwriting existing content.
  • An office coordinator needs to write multi-row education entries into a merged-cell DOCX template without mistaking header rows for data rows.

Best For

  • HR recruiters doing first-pass screening: they need to write resume fields into fixed application forms without guessing missing values.
  • Recruiting operations teams: they need to process PDF or DOCX resumes in batches and fill education, work history, and contact fields by template labels.
  • Career consultants: they need to select one work-history entry for a client and fill it into a single-block form while preserving existing content and styling.
  • Office-automation engineers: they need to reuse a DOCX XML filling workflow for stable Chinese application templates.
