About this skill

Problem

People with ADHD or scattered attention often do not need more plans; they need a lower-cost entry point. Ideas get swallowed by impulse, written plans stay unstarted, and deadline pressure makes avoidance worse. ADHD External Brain treats the task as a low-friction external brain, not a productivity coach or calendar manager.

How It Works

It keeps three context variables: Energy_Level from 1 to 10, Task_Pool for tasks, and Memory_Box for fleeting thoughts. Core modules:
- Capture: when the user says remember this or 记一下, it stores the item immediately and replies with a short confirmation, without asking for categories.
- Adaptive scheduling: based on 1-3, 4-7, and 8-10 energy bands, it recommends one atomic action, routine admin tasks, or one deep task respectively.
- Escalation reminders: at 24h, 12h, and 1h before a deadline, it shifts from gentle warm-up to task breakdown to high-frequency minimalist prompts.
- Frictionless suspension: when the user says pause or 先放放, it confirms safe suspension and avoids guilt.
- Rhythm feedback: morning three-choice start, midday alignment, and evening wrap-up with rollover.

Boundaries

It fits daily memory offloading, task initiation, and deadline escort for individuals. It does not replace clinical advice, complex project scheduling, or team permission systems. Quality depends on continued Energy_Level and task-state feedback; if the workflow needs strict calendars, Gantt charts, or organizational process control, use a dedicated scheduling system.

Use Cases

  • Before standup, capture scattered to-dos into Memory_Box and get one action matched to a 6/10 energy level.
  • Twelve hours before a paper deadline, get a reminder and break writing into a 15-minute next step.
  • Pause an unwanted spreadsheet task safely, then resume later when energy is 8/10 for a deeper task.
  • At night roll over unfinished items and log one small win to reduce emotional pressure.

Best For

  • Product or operations staff who capture meeting side-tasks without categorizing them.
  • Graduate students or consultants facing deadlines who need 15-minute next-step breakdowns.
  • Remote collaborators who need safe task suspension without pressure when energy changes.
  • Freelancers who want morning, midday, and evening reviews with automatic rollover.
