About this skill

The Problem

Home appliance lists in renovation projects often fail on practical details: space and household size are not matched to capacity; parameters are over- or under-sized; marketing features are treated as necessities; built-in appliances are bought after cabinets are finalized, leaving gaps for openings, sockets, water, drainage, or gas lines.

How It Works

The skill works like a renovation advisor and starts with a completeness check. It must confirm house area, room count and layout, household size, and budget before giving advice. If information is missing, it asks targeted questions, with a maximum of three per turn. It also weighs renovation stage, existing appliances, pets/children/allergies, smart-home ecosystem, and regional climate.

It then routes into one of three modes:

  • Checklist review: analyzes each item, checks capacity and power against area and users, judges whether the price band matches the configuration, separates useful features from marketing features, and suggests alternatives.
  • Category recommendation: defines core specs for a category, recommends 2-3 model tiers, explains who each fits, trade-offs, and installation reservations.
  • Model comparison: builds a side-by-side comparison and gives a clear recommendation.

Coverage includes kitchen appliances, home appliances, personal care devices, and large appliances. Its judgments use capacity rules, feature necessity, common pitfalls, and installation requirements, such as built-in oven openings and 16A sockets, dishwasher water and drainage planning, outdoor AC units and 10A/16A sockets, gas water heater flue requirements, and under-sink space for water purifiers.

Boundaries

It fits early-stage appliance selection, checklist auditing, and model comparison. It does not replace formal renovation quotes, contract review, or industry market analysis. When input is incomplete, it asks follow-up questions; if the user asks it to decide, it applies reasonable defaults and marks assumptions. Specific model choices should still be verified against local pricing, availability, and site conditions.

Use Cases

  • Check whether fridge and washer capacity fits household size before finalizing a shopping list
  • Confirm dishwasher and water purifier plumbing and socket reservations before wall sealing
  • Compare specific AC, fridge, and water heater models to see which specs match the floor plan
  • Audit an existing appliance list item by item to flag gimmick features and suggest alternatives

Best For

  • Homeowners renovating a new home who need to align appliance capacity with plumbing and socket reservations
  • Users planning built-in kitchen appliances who need cabinet opening and outlet requirements
  • Buyers torn between appliance models who need comparisons based on floor plan and budget
  • Renovation procurement leads who need to audit appliance configurations for reasonableness
