When Excel work is not just editing cells, but reading multiple sheets, merging multiple files, cleaning dirty fields, and producing pivot tables or charts, manual steps become fragile. excel-analysis structures this work into a repeatable scripted flow: read workbooks, clean and combine data, then output formatted workbooks or visualizations.

How It Works and Limits

Core capabilities include:
- Read one or many sheets with pandas.read_excel, using usecols and dtype to control column scope and field types
- Write styled or conditionally formatted Excel files with openpyxl or xlsxwriter
- Generate charts from tabular data with matplotlib
- Read older .xls files with xlrd

It fits recurring tasks such as field cleaning, multi-file joins, pivot summaries, and chart export. It is not a general BI platform and does not replace business-rule modeling. For large files, reduce the number of columns, use chunked reading, and choose the appropriate engine such as openpyxl or xlrd.
