About this skill

Problem

When the input is only a rough idea such as “make me a choose-your-own adventure,” the result can easily become a pile of disconnected lore: themes, characters, dialogue, and endings that never form a playable flow. This skill is not a long-form novel writer; it turns interactive storytelling into an executable structure: a logline, character cards, a branch map, a sample chapter, and ending paths. The output can be played by reading aloud or sending messages, or the node table can be connected to any text platform.

How It Works

It starts by locking the genre and tone to prevent the plot from drifting. It then produces player and key NPC cards with desires, secrets, and initial state. The core artifact is the branch map: a table of node ID / situation / options / jump / unlock condition, with at least 8 nodes and convergence points to avoid fragmenting the story. It finishes with a first-node sample chapter to demonstrate interactive voice, plus at least 3 endings and their trigger paths. It can also deepen branching, adjust tone, or add light mechanics such as dice or attribute checks if requested.

Boundaries

This fits party text RPGs, classroom interaction, narrative prototypes, or early demo frameworks. Content should include an age rating and avoid realistic graphic violence, sexual content, self-harm, or real-world political allusions. Horror should default to psychological suspense; heavier content requires explicit 18+ labeling. It is for entertainment, not mental health treatment.

Use Cases

  • Prepare a 30-minute party text RPG by generating character cards and branch nodes for direct message play.
  • Turn a one-line suspense or apocalypse idea into a playable framework with 8 nodes, convergence, and endings.
  • Write a first-node sample chapter and 2–3 options to demonstrate an interactive, readable Demo tone.
  • Design a classroom choice game with age rating and psychological suspense instead of graphic violence.

Best For

  • Event organizers: create a no-code text RPG for friends with node tables, sample chapters, and endings.
  • Interactive fiction writers: organize theme, characters, and branches into a clear, completable structure.
  • Classroom game designers: build choice-driven mini-games with age-appropriate boundaries.
  • Narrative product prototypers: turn choose-your-own-adventure ideas into demoable flows.
