About this skill

Problem It Solves

When a 45-page competitor review, 8-page architecture memo, or 1,200-word retro lands on your desk, the useful output is not a longer summary. It is a single A4-sized page that supports judgment, delegation, or a follow-up decision. One-Page Explainer compresses long material into an independent brief that can be read and acted on without returning to the source.

How It Works

  • Mode-first compression: elevator pitch, one-page report, decision memo, knowledge card, execution checklist, comparison sheet, and timeline page map to 30-second explanations, project retros, option trade-offs, concept onboarding, dependencies, side-by-side choices, and historical context.
  • Template-driven output: a one-page report follows problem → data → conclusion → action; a decision memo follows options → recommendation → rationale → risk; comparison pages cap dimensions at five.
  • Hard limits: Chinese output is normally capped around 500 characters, with at most seven logical blocks, six table rows, and ten list items. When content exceeds the page, it flags must-keep, should-keep, and removable content instead of silently shrinking scope.
  • Semantic compression: it removes filler, transitions, and duplicate points, then preserves numbers, conclusions, actions, dependencies, and unique facts, rather than keeping the first 500 characters.

Boundaries to Watch

It is suited to meeting notes, proposal comparisons, technical docs, project retros, and concept cards. It is not a substitute for deep reading, nor does it invent missing data. Very long inputs are summarized in chunks, which may drop details; image input is treated mainly as OCR text; modes are not mixed; and the output must remain self-contained.

Use Cases

  • Compress a 45-page competitor review into a VP-ready one-page brief before a 5-minute sync.
  • Turn an 8-page architecture memo into a decision memo with options, recommendation, rationale, and risks.
  • Convert project kickoff notes into a phased checklist with checkpoints and dependencies.
  • Reduce 60 pages of cloud vendor proposals to a one-page comparison with a recommended choice and trade-offs.

Best For

  • Engineers briefing a VP who need a 30-second elevator pitch and clear next actions.
  • Product managers running retros who need meeting notes turned into timeline, root cause, and SOP actions.
  • Architects comparing tech choices who need options, recommendation, risks, and fallbacks on one page.
  • Tech leads onboarding engineers who need complex concepts reduced to concept, principle, example, and limits.
