About this skill

Problem

Knowledge management in SiYuan often breaks down in three places: parent pages accumulate flat title lists without clickable indexes, bulk imports from repos, papers, or WeChat articles create unwieldy MOCs, and API-written [[document]] links often become plain text, weakening backlinks and graph relations. This skill targets notes that already exist but lack a maintainable structure.

How It Works

It turns organization into a workflow: read real titles and block IDs with structure, then generate parent-page indexes as NNN_Title — one-line summary at the end of the parent document. Child numbering starts at 000; only the notebook root may use 999_README. For 50+ child documents, it recommends grouped overviews plus curated links instead of exhaustive lists. Bulk sync first maps structure, builds a group skeleton, then writes documents. WeChat import proceeds through fetch, extract, upload via file[], and post-processing. It also uses siyuan://blocks/ links, sets sort=999 with attrs, and checks title, block ID, index, and updated timestamp.

Boundaries

It does not cover SiYuan installation, server deployment, plugin API development, or pure writing tasks. Its focus is turning hierarchy, double-link indexes, tags, and import pipelines into reviewable engineering workflows.

Use Cases

  • When curating SiYuan parent pages, get block IDs via structure and add a clickable child-document double-link index at the page end.
  • When importing GitHub repo docs into SiYuan, build group skeletons first, then write NNN_-numbered docs and update indexes.
  • When importing WeChat articles, extract text and images, upload to SiYuan, then rename, move folders, and add tags.
  • When downloading AUTOSAR standards, crawl paginated file lists, download files concurrently, and generate a linked Markdown index.

Best For

  • Engineers maintaining personal knowledge bases who need to turn scattered notes into parent-page indexes and MOCs.
  • Tech doc team leads who need to bulk-import repo documentation into SiYuan with consistent numbering, links, and indexes.
  • Researchers tracking papers and industry standards who need to import WeChat articles, download specs, and build traceable indexes.
  • Architects using SiYuan for project records who need block IDs and tags to build navigable double-link relationships.
