About this skill

Problem

Publishing a locally written Markdown, HTML, or TXT article to a WeChat Official Account often breaks down at format conversion, image upload, cover art, and draft submission. wechat-file-publish turns those steps into a repeatable publishing workflow for finished technical articles.

How It Works

  • Input: local article files, including .md, .html, and .txt; Markdown is recommended.
  • Conversion: a built-in converter handles headings, bold, italics, inline code, code blocks, lists, quotes, tables, and images.
  • Images: local image paths are uploaded to the WeChat media library and replaced with WeChat URLs; cover images can be uploaded as thumbnails.
  • Generated visuals: the skill matches article keywords to a color theme and can generate cover art and supporting illustrations.
  • Draft publishing: the workflow calls the WeChat account API to create an image-text draft. It requires appId, appSecret, a default author, and a whitelisted server IP.

Boundaries

This skill does not replace writing or content design. It focuses on the publishing pipeline. Articles that rely on WeChat-specific layouts or complex interactive styles may still need manual polish. Images must respect API limits, usually staying under 2MB. If Pillow is not installed, generated-image support is skipped.

Use Cases

  • Convert local Markdown to a WeChat image draft.
  • Generate a cover image from article keywords.
  • Upload local Markdown images to WeChat media.
  • Publish a finished MD post through CodeBuddy.

Best For

  • Authors publishing local Markdown posts to WeChat
  • Editors generating WeChat covers and illustrations
  • Engineers syncing technical blog posts to WeChat
  • Operations converting HTML or TXT into WeChat drafts
