About this skill

Problem

When selecting short-drama topics, creators and MCN operators face a large stream of Douyin content. Manually checking charts makes it hard to identify rising genres, title patterns, and creator shifts. This skill turns daily hit tracking into a repeatable data task: filtering by likes, clustering genres, and producing a structured report.

How It Works

Core capabilities include:
- Hit discovery: selects popular short-drama content by likes.
- Genre clustering: groups content around time travel, CEO, rebirth, suspense, sweet romance, and comeback themes, or custom keywords.
- Trend analysis: reports top 5 genres, hit title patterns, core creator rankings, and early growth signals.
- Visual report: generates a dark-theme HTML report with covers, interaction data, and direct links.

The key steps are date pre-check, report generation via playlet_douyin_daily.py, and trend analysis based on clustering. Data updates daily at 15:00 for the previous day; if the target date has no data, it asks for confirmation to avoid invalid API calls.

Caveats

This skill is focused on Douyin short-drama tracking, not full market research. Genre labels depend on built-in keywords and query results, so custom keywords can change clustering. It requires a RedFox Hub API key and is subject to quota, rate, and cache limits.

Use Cases

  • Before scripting, a short-drama writer checks daily genre distribution and rising signals to choose the next creative direction.
  • An MCN operator tracks creator and competitor performance in genres like time travel and CEO drama to form competitive judgments.
  • A content analyst queries monthly genre interaction data to build trend research material for Douyin short dramas.
  • An industry follower enables daily subscriptions to receive an HTML report and quickly review short-drama hotspots.

Best For

  • Short-drama writers: need to quickly identify which genres and title patterns are more likely to become hits.
  • MCN operators: need to monitor core creator rankings and compare competitor performance across genres.
  • Content analysts: need to turn Douyin short-drama genre distribution and interaction trends into research conclusions.
  • Short-drama industry followers: need automatic daily reports instead of manually scanning Douyin for hotspots.
