About this skill

Problem

Smaller institutions and individual investors often struggle with routine research: stock profiles, market data, financials, news, and peer comparisons are scattered across terminals and web pages. Manually calculating PE, ROE, and gross margin, then plotting charts and exporting reports is repetitive. This skill turns “input a ticker or company name → output an interactive research report” into a scripted workflow.

How It Works

It runs a linear pipeline:
- Parameter parsing: recognizes A-share, HK, and US tickers, and can confirm company names by search.
- Data aggregation: prefers westock-data and neodata-financial-search, with WebSearch + WebFetch as fallback.
- Metric calculation: generates 12+ metrics such as ROE, PE(TTM), PB, PEG, and EV/EBITDA, and attempts industry percentile ranking.
- Peer screening: matches around 5 comparable companies by industry, market cap, business similarity, and market attention.
- Report output: creates a candlestick trend chart, financial comparison bar chart, and multi-dimensional radar chart, then inlines them into HTML for PDF printing or Word export.

Boundaries and Caveats

It is not a real-time trading terminal and does not guarantee complete fields. Missing data is marked N/A without blocking the pipeline; financials depend on the latest public disclosures; charts depend on a Python environment and fonts; deep analysis consumes more Credits. The report includes a disclaimer and is best treated as a research draft.

Use Cases

  • After receiving a ticker, quickly generate an HTML research draft with market data, metrics, and peers.
  • During industry comparison, screen five peers and aggregate market cap, PE, and ROE into one table.
  • Embed candlestick, financial bar charts, and radar charts into HTML, then print to PDF or export Word.
  • Without a standard terminal, complete basic equity research using public search and built-in data skills.

Best For

  • Researchers at smaller institutions who need quick equity summaries and peer comparisons.
  • Individual investors who want financial metrics, valuation, and industry ranking without a terminal.
  • Quant/data analysts who need a reusable scripted pipeline and Python metric calculations.
  • Editors who need generated research charts assembled into sendable HTML or PDF reports.
