About this skill

Problem

Long-form writing often drifts in character, leaves foreshadowing unresolved, or loses pacing. This skill breaks novel creation into reviewable stages, so the model works under explicit constraints for genre, cast structure, ending style, and length instead of emitting one uncontrolled block of text.

How it works

Preference collection
- Confirm genre, character architecture, ending style, and length
- Use templates for protagonist-plus-supporting, protagonist-versus-antagonist, or ensemble casts

Character design and outline
- Complete key details for the protagonist, supporting cast, or antagonist
- Generate a title, world summary, three-act roadmap, and chapter plan
- Wait for user confirmation before drafting chapters

Chapter generation and export
- Produce 1-3 chapters per round, each about 2000-5000 words
- Advance plot, emotional, and thematic threads together
- Write the completed novel to novel_{title}.txt

Boundary

Best for iterative creative work where settings and outline need review. If genre or character information is missing, the skill fills the setup first; it is not intended for skipping outline confirmation and dumping an entire long novel in one pass.

Use Cases

  • Define genre, cast structure, and a three-act outline for serialized fiction, then draft chapters
  • Expand existing protagonist and antagonist dynamics into a mid-length antagonist-driven novel
  • Generate 1-3 chapters per round from a confirmed world and chapter plan, then export a txt draft
  • Design 4-8 core characters for an ensemble architecture and map a three-act epic roadmap

Best For

  • Web novelists who need three-act serialization and can review outline changes before drafting
  • Screenwriters who want to extend existing character setups into antagonist-driven stories
  • Editors who need chapter-by-chapter review of long-form drafts and txt exports for delivery
  • Planners building ensemble epics who must track arcs for 4-8 core characters
