About this skill
What problem it solves
WeChat Official Account posts do not behave like normal web pages: class styles, external CSS, and custom fonts can be stripped or rendered inconsistently after pasting. wechat-format turns Markdown or plain text into WeChat-compatible HTML source, using inline styles and constraining output to tags and CSS patterns that WeChat is more likely to accept. Instead of applying a fixed template, it infers visual parameters, page skeleton, and component choices from the article itself.
Core capabilities and key steps
- Signal matrix: scans lexical, sentence-length, paragraph-density, data, step, timeline, and interview signals to infer tone, font size, density, decorative intensity, image fit, and page skeleton.
- Page skeletons: chooses among magazine, brief, narrative, album, document, dialogue, timeline, letter, card, or tutorial layouts to define the opening, middle rhythm, and closing.
- Component pool: locates HTML snippets by geometric, organic, or rounded directions, using
rgb()/rgba()inline styles while avoiding external CSS, fonts, and scripts. - Workflow modes: supports quick layout, full step-by-step review, reverse-engineering pasted Official Account HTML, and remixing an existing output.
- Compatibility checks: requires a global wrapper, avoids negative margins, flags dark-mode preview needs, and handles punctuation, blank lines, missing paths, long paragraphs, or missing titles.
Best fit: generating WeChat-ready article HTML from Markdown or plain text. Limitations: output is compatible HTML rather than arbitrary web templates; pure code, legal text, poetry, diary entries, and dialogue-heavy pieces may skip images or reduce decoration; rendering can vary across WeChat clients and dark mode, so preview is required.
Use Cases
- An editor receives a Markdown tutorial and needs WeChat-compatible HTML for a subscription account, confirming image placement in quick mode.
- An operations writer turns a product announcement into a service-account article with reduced decoration, a document or brief skeleton, and inline styles.
- A content author pastes existing Official Account HTML, extracts components, then reuses color palettes and card components for a data brief.
- A technical writer processes Markdown with code blocks and wants low-decoration or image-free output while preserving code styling.
Best For
- Technical editors publishing subscription-account weekly articles who need paste-ready WeChat-compatible HTML from Markdown.
- Operations owners handling service-account announcements who need formal, low-decoration layouts with document or brief skeletons.
- Content leads maintaining visual templates who need to reverse-engineer existing HTML and mix components across articles.
- Tutorials or data-brief operators who need skeleton, card, and data-component choices inferred from the draft.
