About this skill

Problem

When querying financial data in natural language, models may pass loose phrases like “CATL,” “a new-energy leader,” “today,” or “recent trading days” directly into downstream tools. That can produce wrong codes, date drift, and missed entities. DEEPQ Utility Tools isolates these pre-resolution steps into stable atomic operations.

Capabilities and usage

The skill relies on DeepQ MCP Server and exposes a set of base tools:

  • Stock and fund resolution: guessStockCode resolves a single A-share code, while guessFundCode resolves a public fund code;
  • Entity extraction: finEntityExtract batch-extracts stocks, funds, indexes, and other financial entities from one question;
  • Time and trading calendar: currentDatetime returns the current date/time, and recentTransDate returns recent A-share trading days;
  • Market hot sectors: queryHotSector returns the current hot-sector ranking.

A practical call order is: resolve tickers first, then confirm date/trading day, then run the downstream query. For questions with multiple tickers, prefer finEntityExtract.

Boundaries

It works best as a helper for other financial skills or as a standalone utility, not as a source for market data, financial metrics, or investment advice. Use finEntityExtract for batch entity extraction and guessStockCode when a single stock needs precise resolution.

Use Cases

  • Resolve a single A-share name such as CATL into a standard stock code for later queries.
  • Batch-extract funds and indexes from one natural-language question before separate lookups.
  • Check the current date and fetch recent A-share trading days to avoid weekend dates.
  • Use the hot-sector ranking to infer a standard sector name from a vague direction.

Best For

  • Engineers building stock Q&A skills: resolve stock names into standard codes first.
  • Algorithm engineers building fund research agents: batch-extract fund and index entities.
  • Backend engineers for financial data products: add current date and trading-day parameters before API calls.
  • Integration engineers building WorkBuddy financial assistants: align vague sector mentions with hot-sector names.
