About this skill

Problem

When geospatial data is available as lat/long points, administrative regions, or route sequences, the bottleneck is often not plotting dots but choosing a defensible visualization structure: the wrong chart type, unclear basemap hierarchy, poor color semantics, or missing data provenance can make an HTML map hard to explain. z-viz-map turns these common judgment calls into a guided planning workflow, moving from data shape to an appropriate map expression.

How It Works

The skill targets static or semi-static geographic visualizations. The core path is:
- Clarify the geographic dimension: point coordinates, administrative boundaries, or route point sequences;
- Choose the chart type: scatter distribution, heat map, route map, or region fill;
- Plan basemaps, color hierarchy, and annotations;
- Generate an HTML + ECharts skeleton;
- Validate rendering and basic interaction in a browser.

It emphasizes producing a maintainable visualization scaffold rather than a finished navigation system. This is especially useful for teaching, reporting, and data-analysis scenarios where a clear map structure is needed first.

Boundaries

It is not suitable for real-time traffic, precise navigation, or unaudited personal location data. National boundaries should use qualified map services with proper review numbers; connecting to a map API or MCP requires user confirmation.

Use Cases

  • Plot store coordinates as a city-level scatter distribution for site-density reporting.
  • Turn order lat/long data into a heat-map skeleton to identify dense order regions.
  • Build an administrative-region choropleth for a teaching deck to compare regional metrics.
  • Arrange multi-point route sequences into an ECharts route-map skeleton for browser validation.

Best For

  • Data analysts who need to turn lat/long or regional data into a presentable map skeleton.
  • Front-end or visualization engineers who need an HTML+ECharts map component with rendered validation.
  • Educators or presentation designers who need distribution, heat, or region-filled maps for courses.
  • Product operations staff who need to visualize sanitized business-area coordinates and routes.
