About this skill

Problem

Website analytics often produce lots of charts but few decisions. A site may get search traffic that cannot convert, GA4 sessions that do not reach signup or purchase, or silent loss caused by UX, performance, and technical SEO issues. This skill frames the work as checking whether users complete the intended journey, not just reporting metrics.

How it works

  • Phase 0: goal reconnaissance: inspect the homepage and key pages, classify the site, and define Primary Goal, Intended Journey, and Key Conversion Points.
  • Data collection: use API auto-collection, Manual CSV export, or Browser audit only, storing raw input under $DATA_DIR/data/.
  • Code-driven analysis: process GSC, GA4, and PSI JSON with Python scripts, then write reports into analysis/ and charts into charts/, reducing manual JSON errors.
  • Goal-aligned diagnostics: compare query intent, landing-page fit, path progression, dead-end pages, bounce, and device/channel gaps against expected behavior.
  • Live and code audit: combine PageSpeed Insights, screenshots, front-end metadata, source-code review, and an SEO/GEO checklist to output prioritized P0-P3 actions.

Boundaries

  • Best for sites with stable or inferable goals, such as SaaS, content, e-commerce, or lead-generation sites.
  • Without GA4 custom events, funnel analysis is shallower; without a source-code path, code review covers only observable front-end items.
  • The output is an improvement checklist, not direct code changes or business decisions.

Use Cases

  • Review GSC high-impression, low-CTR queries and decide which title tags and landing pages to fix by intent stage.
  • Compare expected signup paths in GA4 with actual behavior to find dead-end pages that attract traffic but lack next steps.
  • Before a redesign, run PageSpeed Insights and front-end metadata checks to compile P0 performance and SEO issues.
  • Audit a purchase funnel using GA4 custom events to inspect step drop-off, device, and channel differences.

Best For

  • Growth operators who need to turn GSC, GA4, and live-site findings into an actionable optimization list.
  • SEO and performance engineers who need to check metadata, structured data, sitemaps, and page speed issues.
  • Product managers who need to validate whether users complete signup, purchase, or lead-generation paths as intended.
  • Site owners who need to compare search, behavior, and performance issues against business goals before or after a redesign.
