About this skill
Problem: Naming Is Not Keyword Stacking
In naming work, many candidates fail because they look attractive on paper but do not work in context: a personal name may be awkward to pronounce, carry a negative pun, or create visual ambiguity; a brand name may lack distinctiveness; a literary name may rely only on a vague "source." This skill treats naming as constrained content generation, not as random combinations of popular characters, and keeps aesthetic judgment, verifiable facts, and traditional cultural interpretation separate.
How It Works
- Build a naming brief: confirm the naming target, usage context, audience, language and region, length and style, and any elements that must be kept or avoided.
- Choose the naming route: load context-specific references such as
chinese-personal-names.md,chinese-name-phonetics.md,literary-sourcing.md,traditional-naming-systems.md, andcommercial-naming.md. - Generate and filter internally: start from a pool of 30–50 candidates, then remove hard-constraint conflicts, weak meanings, awkward pronunciation, negative puns, and template-like options while preserving distinct stylistic directions.
- Verify and score: check verifiable details such as pronunciation, simplified/traditional character forms, classical sources, and notable-name overlaps. Unconfirmed sources are removed. Scoring compares candidates under the same brief rather than presenting an absolute judgment.
Boundaries
Useful for Chinese personal names, brands, products, accounts, projects, campaigns, and community names, as well as candidate diagnosis and convergence. It does not promise registration, trademark, or platform availability, and it does not infer fate from a name. For household registration, trademarks, or enterprise names, rely on local authorities or qualified professionals.
Use Cases
- Generate Chinese name candidates for newborns, renames, or twins, then check pronunciation, puns, and character form risks.
- Design distinct naming directions for a brand, product, or account, remove template-like options, and present scored comparisons.
- Diagnose existing name candidates by flagging readability issues, weak meanings, negative puns, or scene mismatch.
- Verify literary sources, original texts, authors, and context for classical personal names to avoid vague attribution.
Best For
- Parents or users selecting Chinese names for newborns or adults who worry about pronunciation, puns, and character risks.
- Product or marketing managers choosing brand, product, or account names and comparing distinctiveness and tone.
- Content editors or operators naming communities, campaigns, columns, or projects who need multiple explainable style directions.
- Creators or consultants diagnosing, narrowing, and refining personal or brand name candidates instead of receiving synonym variants.
