About this skill

Problem

Many web systems present image captchas during login, while layouts can vary between top navigation and sidebars. Maintaining UI test cases manually can miss menus and states. This skill targets Python environments and turns login, menu exploration, case capture, execution, and reporting into a repeatable flow.

How It Works

  • Configure BASE_URL, test credentials, MENU_LIST, and key CSS selectors; leave captcha selectors empty if the login page has no captcha.
  • Use ddddocr to recognize the captcha image locally, then let Playwright perform input and login without manual intervention.
  • Apply two selector templates for top navigation and sidebar fallback, improving compatibility across admin layouts and reducing misjudgment from menu click timeouts.
  • Traverse menu pages in order, capture operable features first, then generate standard CSV test cases that follow the expected header order and summary format.
  • During execution, Playwright drives Chromium to take screenshots, handle retry behavior, and output an HTML report with statistics, result tables, detail popups, and filtering.

Boundaries

It fits web backends, portals, or admin areas where menus are clickable after login. It is not ideal for unstructured pages, complex permission differences, or non-browser API testing. MENU_LIST should match real clickable labels on the page, and captcha recognition depends on image clarity and rendering stability.

Use Cases

  • Recognize captcha images during backend login, then submit credentials to prepare menu traversal.
  • Handle both top-nav and sidebar layouts with dual selector fallback to reduce timeout false negatives.
  • Traverse preset menu pages, capture screenshots and function notes that support later regression.
  • Convert captured features into standard CSV cases, then execute them and generate filterable HTML reports.

Best For

  • Test engineers maintaining web backend scripts who want automated captcha login and menu clicks
  • QA owners who need to capture post-login features and export standard CSV test cases
  • Test leads running regression checks who need statistics and failure details in HTML reports
  • Engineers building Python automation flows who need local Playwright and ddddocr execution
