About this skill

Problem

Desktop files often mix documents, images, videos, and installers. Manual sorting by type is slow and easy to miss. kskbl targets one narrow job: scanning a directory, defaulting to the desktop, and moving files into Documents, Images, Videos, Music, Archives, Installers, Code, Shortcuts, and Other.

How It Works

  • Preview first: shows a preview list before moving anything.
  • Move only: does not edit file contents, only changes location.
  • Skips open files: avoids files currently in use.
  • Undo support: restores via _撤销记录.

Classification is extension-based, such as .pdf and .docx into documents, .mp4 into videos, and .py or .ts into code. It can organize the desktop without a path or a specified folder when given a path.

Boundaries

Best for local batch folder classification. It is not for renaming, deduplication, cloud synchronization, or content-based grouping. Check write permission and verify the preview before execution to avoid moving temporary or active files.

Use Cases

  • A desktop filled with PDFs, photos, and installers needs files moved into type folders.
  • A project drop contains code, docs, and archives that must be sorted into target folders.
  • A downloads folder mixes images and videos and needs extension-based grouping.
  • Before cleanup, a user needs a preview list and the ability to undo moves.

Best For

  • Students with a messy desktop who need type-based sorting and fear misplaced files.
  • Engineers receiving project drops who need docs, code, and installers archived.
  • Creators with mixed downloads who need images and videos sorted into folders.
  • Personal computer users who want a preview before moves and undo support.
